// chapter ii //
Jordan Carter's POV
Lunch came by a blur. My screen play class was over and I have already finished the first chapter of my story. I have not yet thought of a title, maybe it will come along the way as I write. The girl, who I seem to not catch the name, skipped her way out of class. Her cheerfulness is very annoying. I haven't thanked her for the paper and I am not planning to anyway. She forced it to me so I have no say in that.
It's not like we're going to be friends sooner or later.
I met up with Jake in our usual lunch table. He brought along some of the guys in the football team. I am friends with some of them, but some are just mere acquaintances. They have been trying to convince me to join the football team, but I rejected every offer. Being in the football team means having after school practices and I could not afford that, I still have to look over mom and my little sister Jane.
"Jordan, our man!" Lucas greeted me as I made my way to the table. I sat in the middle of Jake and Romero.
I gave Lucas a boyish nod and grab the can of coke I kept inside my bag. I sipped on the drink and eyed the cafeteria. I am not looking for someone in particular but a certain petite brunette keeps popping in my mind.
"Hey Jake"
"Yeah?" he mumbled spitting out bits of the food he is eating. He swallowed and muttered another "Yeah?"
"I was wondering. Do you know a certain petite brunette?"
"I don't know man. There's lot of those in this University. Why, you finally thought of getting laid"
He said raising his eyebrows suggestively. I playfully smack him in the head
"No you idiot. It was just that this girl keeps annoying me in my screenplay class, I just want to know her name to, you know, look out after her. That's all" I said with a shrug and brought the can closer to my lips as I took a sip
"Yeah right" Jake said no trace of belief in his tone. I muttered a 'whatever' and continued with my coke. I am not hungry today, and the cafeteria food sickens me, so this coke will do.
A good five or six minutes has pass as we ate (or drink) our individual lunches in peace. That was until we were disturbed by an army of skanky girls. We spotted them a meter away as they head to our table swaying their hips from side to side with added effort. The boys in our table looked like lions spotting their preys
"Oooo, here comes dessert"
Jake whispered from my side. I scoffed, elbowing him in the stomach. I continued with my coke. It was long finished a while back but I continued sipping it pretentiously to avoid any spark of conversations.
A blonde girl, with a very short skirt and revealing blouse was first to speak up
"Uh hey guys – she said in an unbelievable high pitched voice– so there's this party at Megan's – she pointed to the black haired girl by her side. The black hair girl waved her hand rapidly– it's at seven o'clock tonight at Megan's house. So, like, are you coming?"
She finished, twirling her golden locks and biting her lips as if to seduce us. She was staring straight at me. Good Lord. I continued (pretend) sipping on my drink not bothering to reply.
"Are there any more hot babes like you there?"
Lucas, the manwhore, asked.
"Totally" the three girls said in unison, with their high pitch voice. Kill me. Please.
