// chapter iii //
The party was already in full swing when I arrived. The fresh lawn is covered with litters and bodies. The smell of alcohol invaded my nose but it doesn't really affect me that much. Having an alcoholic for a father, you'd get used to it.
I need not to knock because the door was wide opened, it's an open party, and everybody's invited. Megan's house was huge, but with the mass of party people, it seems stuffed. I made my way inside, trying to squeeze in with the people. Sweat and liquor came in contact with my skin. I have been halted to a stop numerous of times by people who's trying to hand me alcohol or spark a conversation. I declined both and just made my way to the kitchen. I spotted Jake talking to a blonde, but as soon as Jake spotted me, he quickly ignored the blonde and made his way to me.
Bros over hoes
"Yow, Jordy my man! You made it!" he said and gave me a pat in the back.
"Pops not around and the ladies won't be back til' midnight"
"Then we shall party til' it's freaking midnight!"
I laughed at Jake's enthusiasm, clearly he is tipsy by the way he sways.
Wasted by Tiesto played and immediately I feel Jake bouncing
"Whoooo! I love this song let's dance!!!"
He yelled and raised both his arms up and started jumping up and down to the rhythm of the music
"Your drunk man!" I yelled
"What?" he yelled back
"I said your drunk!"
"The bathrooms that way!"
He said pointing to his right. I scoffed at his idiotic response and made my way to the makeshift dance floor the furniture were pressed to the sides providing an open space in the middle. People were grinding, dancing and making out. People still hand me red cups... I looked intently at the cup, smelling the all to familiar scent of liquor. It wouldn't hurt to try, now would it? this time I accepted them. I only sip half of my cup and decided to stop, it tastes really horrid. Alcohol does bad things to people, look at Jerry for example. I'll never be like him. I threw the cup to nowhere in particular. I spotted the blonde girl who invited us making her way towards me, I pray to God that hopefully she'll realize that I am totally not into her.
Sadly she doesn't get that
"Jordan!!!"
She yelled raising her arms and waving hysterically at me. Her boobs bounced as she waved, earning her the attention she craved from the audience. I pretended not to hear her, even though it is impossible, and escaped the makeshift dance floor. I lost the blondie in sight. A glass sliding-door was the barrier separating the kitchen from the outside, I slide the door and slipped out and made my way outside.
The cool breeze hit my skin making me pull my leather jacket tighter to my body. I spot an old swing set and made my way there. I took the right one and sat. I propped my elbows to my knees and rested my chin in my palm. I stared at nothing in particular. My mind keeps wandering back to endless possibilities and what ifs. Like what if we have escaped earlier? Then that would mean Jane wouldn't be born, I answered my own thoughts. What if Jerry never become an alcoholic? We would have been perfect.
I kept overthinking that I haven't noticed somebody sat in the swing next to me until she spoke up
"Over-thinking cause wrinkles too, you know"
The screen-play girl.
"Are you stalking me?"
I asked. Clearly she has been following me, just this day I saw here in every possible places.
