Chapter 4 " Words"

Cheryl and Toni were enjoying dinner at Pop's , when all of a sudden while Cheryl was talking Toni was zoning out. Toni must've been zoned out for a while because she didn't even feel the supposed tear go down her cheek.

"TT?"

"Mhm....oh shit, Sorry Cher what where u saying?" Toni said quickly wiping the tears away, hoping cheryl didn't see.

"My love, are you okay?" Cheryl ask's in a concerned voice.

"I'm okay Cher" Toni reassures her girlfriend. "I'm sorry for zoning out what were you saying?" Toni says trying to change the subject before Cheryl asks too many questions, which Toni obviously didn't want to answer.

"But T you were crying....you know you can talk to me right?" Cheryl says to Toni.

Toni never really liked talking about her feelings, every time the topic was brought up she would try to change it. Toni's had a rough childhood. Her mom left when she was 2, her dad was an drunkie, and sometimes would hit young Toni. When Cheryl and Toni would play fight and Cheryl raised her hand at Toni she would flinch. Of course Cheryl didn't know, but once Toni told her , she stopped. Cheryl always wanted Toni to feel loved so she would constantly remind her. But even with that Toni had major trust issues, so she didn't open up much , but Cheryl really wanted to know what was wrong with Toni, since she never zones out unless something really is bothering her.

Toni just sighed as she knew that Cheryl wouldn't let this go so she decided to just tell her.

"Last year I had a boyfriend, his name was Austin. At first things were fine . We were perfect, he knew everything, I trusted him with everything. Until one night we.....did it. That was my first time. Looking back, I really wish it wasn't. But after that night at school he wouldn't talk to me, or even look at me. I thought I had done something wrong. But I heard him bragging to his friends about it and about how he kissed another girl the day after."

Tears were falling off of Toni's face while she was taking. She was avoiding eye contact with Cheryl for some reason she felt ashamed.

"He broke up with me that same day. He said it wasn't gonna work out. Then he left. He had moved out of Riverdale, I thought I would never see him again. I was so heartbroken for months, I thought I would never know real love , I thought no one would ever love me. Until I found you. And you made everything better. But today when I was at my locker I saw him and he came up to me and told me I was 'a worthless slut , who would never find love'.

Cheryl's heart broke when she heard those words. She wanted to say something , but she knew that there wasn't really anything to say. Instead she just moved to the booth next to her girlfriend and brought her close. One she did Toni climbed on her lap to the point where she was straddling Cheryl, and started sobbing into Cheryls hoodie. Cheryl didn't know what to say so she just rubbed circles on Toni's back.

"Baby, I want you to know that you are NONE of those things, okay? Your amazing, and that prick can choke on his ego. And Toni you have found real love, I'm right here. I will always love you. Even if you don't love yourself, or if you think no one loves you, I do. I do now, I will tomorrow, I will in five days, I will in 5 years , I will until forever meets the end. I Promise you."

"Thank you Cher."

"No need , Mon amor. Je t'aime, pour toujours et pour toujours. ( means I love you, forever and always.)

Cheryl and Toni paid for the food and left pops. They decided to go home and cuddle. Being with one another is all they needed. At the end of the day Cheryl was furious with this 'Austin' dude. But she pushed her feelings aside just for a few. But tomorrow he will feel hell on earth. But today, she was gonna be with Toni, because Toni needed her. They cuddled and soon fell asleep tangled within one another.
