Mark E. Wilson is a child of the 90s so fondly remembers the concept of idealism and how seemingly plausible it was.

His first published work was in a poetry anthology about sport in 1995 – it was rubbish. A lengthy period was wasted before a play was penned for a small theatre group; the title of which was determined by the fact that they had already ordered all of the t-shirts for the kids to wear.

Having written an extensively poor collection of navel-gazing poetry throughout his teens, it made perfect sense to abandon that completely and start writing novels. Early work focused on lone assassins working for secret organisations which was abandoned just as the taste for SAS-inspired novels piqued.

He gained work experience at some of the world's finest literary publishers – working on such notable titles as When Saturday Comes and World Soccer, before embarking on a financially rewarding but morally draining career in media sales. Apropos of nothing, during this time he met his wife.

A major setback was the implosion of a much-used laptop, resulting in the traumatic loss of three heavily researched but inadequately plotted novels. This novel is an attempt to overcome such a hindrance and restart a writing career that has not so much been dormant like a volcano as been in deep hibernation like a tardigrade.

He is currently an English and Media Teacher having swapped his sales career for one which is financially draining but morally rewarding.
