Louri’s POV
“Damn Scar, you have a really nice house.” I say as we walk in Scarlett has Devon and I have two of her suitcases. “Our house Babe remember.” She says holding out her left hand showing me her ring, something she does a lot. “Right still getting used to it. Which room is ours and which one is Devon’s?” I ask. “Um Mom said that she turned the guest room across the hall from our room into the nursery. Right this way.” She says leading me upstairs. “Fucking hell this place is awesome your Mother puts our decorating skills to shame.” I say as we walk in Devon’s room. “I swear ‘fuck’ is going to be Devon’s first word.” Scarlett jokes. “Scarlett his Mama is a Major in the Marines.” I say and she nods. “Ok here’s our room you can put our bags in here.” Scarlett says. “Baby?” I ask as I look at the sound proofing on the walls. “What’s wrong?” She asks. “Did you have our room sound proofed?” I ask pointing to the wall and her jaw drops. “I’m going to kill him.” She says now I look at her confused. “Uh who are you going to kill?” I ask taking Devon since I need Devon cuddles and Scarlett looks like shes about to go on a war path. “Either Hunter or your brother.” She states. “Which brother I have two?” I say even though I’m pretty sure she means Chris. “Chris.” She says pulling out her phone and calling someone. “Hey are you in New York?” She asks the person on the other end of the phone. “Awesome because we just got here and would like to have everybody come over for dinner. Great I’ll see you at five. Love you too, bye.” She says hanging up. “What dinner?” I ask confused. “Oh there’s no dinner I just needed to lure Hunter over.” She says with a mischievous grin I am a bad influence on her. “Babe after we get everything out of the car, I need to run to the store to get some things.” She says with a giant grin. “I’m a bad influence on you.” I tell her and she just nods. After we get everything out of the truck I hand Scarlett the keys and she is off. “Well Little Marine shall we explore our new home?” I say getting nothing in return, well what should I expect? He's 8 months old. “Mommy didn’t tell me about this.” I say to him as I walk into the gym in the basment. “Look at all this Buddy we don’t even have one of these back home in L.A.” I tell him. “Let’s take a look out back.” I tell him as I go back upstairs to the main floor. “Let’s get your coat back on you since it’s cold out.” I say as if he can understand what I say. When we get to the back I see a little play set that is obviously brand new with a note on it.

I know we haven’t been able to meet yet and for that I’m sorry. But I heard that your Mama got a promotion and is going to be stationed here in New York for at least six months. You should be 8 months old now that means you should be walking already or really soon, so I bought and built you this little play set. I will be in New York till after the holidays.

I read the note out loud to Devon and Kersten is right about the walking. Devon has mastered standing but not walking quite yet. “Awe Devon that’s so sweet of your Pop Pop.” I say to him. “LOURI I’M HOME WHERE ARE YOU!?” Scarlett calls out. “BACKYARD COME HERE YOU’VE GOT TO SEE THIS!” I yell back. “Where did this come from? Mom never mentioned anything about it?” Scarlett asks. “That’s because it’s not from your Mom, it's from your Dad. Here he even wrote a little not to Devon.” I say handing her the note. “I didn’t know he was in New York, that means he can finally meet Devon.” Scarlett says happily. “Let’s go inside it’s kinda cold out here.” I suggest. “I agree.” Scarlett says. “So Devon and I took a little tour of the house I didn’t know we had an in-home gym downstairs.” I tell her. “Well shit.” Scarlett says. “What?” I ask putting Devon in his little play pin I set up before we took our little tour. “That was suposed to be a surprise since I know you get self conscious of your burn scars when you go to a public gym so I had one installed for you and was going to give you a little tour.” She says. “Aw Baby, that's so sweet and I love it. And it was a surprise to know that you had it installed just for me. I figured you have had it ever since you got the place. I haven’t fully looked around it if you still want to give me a tour. “ I tell her and that makes her smile. “I would love to.” She says before picking up the Little Marine. “Ok so if you look up at the top of the doorway you will see a sign I had custom made for you.” She says pointing to a sign that says ‘Welcome to Louri’s Gym’. “I didn’t notice that when I came down here earlier I love it thank you.” I say giving her a quick kiss. “Well I know how much of a fitness junkie you are so I had to ask my personal trainer what are some of the best things to get.” She admits when we enter the gym which takes up the entire basement may I add. “Aw you know me so well.” I tell her and she smiles. “Now everything is that ‘Everlast’ brand just like your punching bag at home.” She says and my eyes widen. “Fuck Scar that’s expensive you didn’t have to do this for me.” I tell her as I wrap my arms around her from behind. “I know I didn’t have to but I wanted to because you deserve the best and my trainer said that Everlast is one of the best brands there is.” She states with a smile before pointing to a poster on the wall. “No fucking way.” I say shocked as I look at the poster

“How?” I ask shocked not taking my eyes off the picture. “Well I remembered you mentioning that one of your biggest roll models was Muhammad Ali so I searched for a poster with this photo because even though I’m not into boxing even I have seen this photo before. So when I found someone who collects Muhammad Ali I had Tina reach out to him and he happened to have two of these and was willing to sell one so I bought it for you I just never knew where to put it till I learned you would be stationed here in New York that I knew it would go perfectly with the gym that’s the really big surprise.” She explains. “Babe this is amazing I don’t know how to thank you for this it’s the best surprise ever except for when I found out you were pregnant with the Little Marine in your arms.” I tell her. “I’m glad you like it.” She says coming over to where I can see her so I turn to face her. “Like it Baby I love it, and I love you.” I say before leaning in for a loving kiss that is interrupted but Devon slapping me in the face with his tinny little hand. “Rude.” I say looking at him. “No hitting Devon we don’t hit people.” Scarlett says to him. “Yeah listen to your Mommy no hitting.” I say pointing a finger at him that he just wraps his little hand around and it makes me smile. Our little moment is interrupted by the doorbell. “That’ll be Hunter.” Scarlett says looking at her watch. We go upstairs and open the door for Hunter to come in. “Here I bought your favorite.” He says handing me a bottle of wine. "Thanks Hunt and I'm sorry." I say and he looks at me confused. "Yeah there’s no dinner I just needed to lure you here." Scarlett tells him as we go to the kitchen. "Is this about sound proofing your guy’s room?” He asks trying to hide a smile. “Yes it is.” Scarlett says putting Devon down in the play pen. “I thought you would find it funny.” He says with a shrug. “You got to admit, Baby it’s a little funny.” I say with a smile. “It would be funny if it didn’t mean that a bunch of strangers were in our room. They could have gone through my things Hunter.” She says slightly angry and now I see why she is upset about it. “But they didn't. I was there the whole time to make sure they didn’t do just that.” He defends himself. “I’m still not happy that a bunch of strangers were in our room.” Scarlett says. “I’m sorry I should have told you but I thought it was funny Chris was the one who gave me the idea anyway.” He says. “That tracks.” I say. “Well since you’re here what chinese food do you want we were planning on getting take out?” I ask and he gives me his order before going over to play with Devon.
