"You need to get you a good woman to take care of you." My dad fussed at me as usual. He stayed stressing me about getting a woman. I was perfectly fine being single. Women were nothing but trouble.
"You act like I'm 40. I'm 23."
He started looking through my liquor cabinet for the vodka I hid from him. Ever since he retired from the NBA he had a drinking issue, it intensified after my mama was killed a few years ago. He was wasn't an alcoholic but he was definitely on the verge of getting there.
"Where is your vodka?" Even though he wasn't suppose to be drinking; I'm glad it got him off the subject about me getting a girlfriend.
"Dad, the doctors said you shouldn't be drinking." He nodded.
"You're right. So I found you this girl." Pops has this giant grin on his face.
Here he goes. He knew good and well the only time he picked a good woman was when he picked my mama. He always said he wanted grandkids from me before he died.
"I'm good." I shook my head and continued to watch the highlights from my game last night.
"She's nice." Watch the girl turn about to be crazy as hell.
"Said that about Stacey's crazy ass and look where she is."
"This one is different. And where is Stacey?"
"Last I heard she was somewhere in a mental institution."
"Poor girl" I made a face at him. Poor girl? Ok. I should go see what Shay is up to so I won't have to listen to him.
"I'll be back and please don't drink up my cognac." I grabbed my keys off the coffee table so I could leave.
"I'll consider it." He told me while lighting a cigar. I swore that man was killing himself slowly but surely.

I walked in the store and Aliya ran straight up to me like she hasn't seen me before. Damn groupie. I did not see how her and Shay were friends. They were like night and day.
"Welcome to Shayla's." She smiled extra hard showing spinach in her front teeth.
She needs to start checking her teeth before she runs her ditzy ass up to somebody. I noticed Shay walking out the back eating ice cream. Ain't it kinda too early for that?
"You have some spinach in your teeth." She frowned and I walked off. The cutest smile spread on Shay's face when she saw me. She had some pink scrubs and Nike's, I wonder what that was about.
"You keep coming like this I'm going to have to hire you." She yawned a little as she spoke. She looked tired as hell.
"Oh really?"
"Yes really."
"Why are you eating ice cream this early in the morning?" I asked wiping the ice cream running down her chin making her grin.
"I couldn't find anything else."
She turned up her nose to something. I turned around to see Montae. Must have fucked up with his wife again. That was the most unfaithful nigga I've ever seen in my life. He was the stereotypical athlete. He was married to a good woman but treated the girl like shit.
"What have you done this time? It hasn't even been a week." Shay growled at him.
"I know. Hook me up and wrap it too." Shay rolled her eyes, turned around to wrap whatever it was. Damn she had an ass on her.
