Chapter 4 : Embers

Adoras POV:

Waking up, it takes me a second to remember what happened yesterday. Catra is already gone and i'm not surprised, given that my Phone tells me it's already 9 am. My work starts at Mid Day today so I'm fine, time wise but my Head was not even close to thinking about that

"I slept with her...i still can't believe that happened" i think "Wasn't this a bit fast? I mean we only met again the day before yesterday and already...no stop doubting yourself...maybe this was always going to happen...who knows"

With a lot of confusing thoughts in my Head, i get dressed and head outside to the Main Building where i find Catra and Scorpia making Breakfast in the Kitchen "Good morning sleepy Head" Scorpia says and i manage a small, awkward smile "mornin"

Catra's Body freezes when she hears me coming. She looks away from me and is seemingly focused on the Bacon that's in the Pan in front of her "Mornin Adora" she says, without any energy

Before i can ask whats wrong, Finn runs up with an empty Plate "More please"

"Of course ye can have more but don't ye Eat all of Scorpia's food or she'll starve" Catra says with a bright smile....that dies when her Eyes meet mine. Awkwardly she walks away with Finn to the Living Room, leaving me even more confused

"What the fuck? Yesterday was perfect and now she avoids me like the Plague?"

"Tough night i take it" Scorpia says offering me a Plate. I think for a second but decide against telling her anything...i barely know the Woman so that would go a bit to far

"Yeah...something like that" i answer with my Hand on my neck

After Breakfast, the tension becomes so much worse. Catra looks at me a lot but otherwise stays silent and i still don't get what i did wrong. My Heart nearly leaps out of my Chest when my Phone rings, showing Huntaras contact

"Gray"

"Get your ass down here, we have a bit of a situation on our hand"

"Situation? I'm not on call you know" i look around me and guess that leaving right now was probably not the worst idea since i seem to be making Catra increasingly uncomfortable. With a sigh i grab my Jacket "Nevermind, i'm on my way." "Thanks for letting me stay here Scorpia but i need to get to work early it seems" i say, walking to the Door

"Ohh okay, you are always welcome, Adora. It was nice getting to know you"

"Likewise" i say with a genuine smile before i look at Catra "I call you later...maybe you can tell me what i did wrong by then"

Catra flinches like i just slapped her and is about to say something when my own immaturity gets the better of me and i leave "Ignore me for two hours and when i have to leave you wanna talk? Fuck off" i think as i get into my Car.

When I start my Engine, my thoughts go back to last night, feeling Catra's Body against mine , hearing her Voice change as she melts into my Touch, more and more her... I force myself to stop and am about to Drive off when I hear Catra's voice "ADORA! WAIT!"

Still slightly pissed, I need to stop myself from just flat out ignoring her like she did to me for two hours. Finally finding my own Maturity again, i lower the Window and give her a look that is unmistakable

"Look...im sorry ..i didn't ...i mean i did but yesterday we.." she stumbles over her own words, not making any sense...but i did hear that she is sorry

"I don't know what's wrong, Catra but I need to go right now. We talk la.." she interrupts me by hitting the Roof of my Car with her flat hand

"LISTEN TO ME...please"
