"Nischay, are you done?" His mother called out for him, after knocking at his room's door. Having no response, she called out again. "Nischay? Your father's calling you."

The door opened and walked out a fine dressed boy. "Sorry mom, I'm done now." She smiled and nodded. Patting his shoulder, she said, "You've grown up." Nischay nodded at her words.

They sat in the limousine, which was heading towards the venue. "Nischay, make sure you look natural. Behavior and body posture is important. Today is very important for us, after all, you're going to be in the center of attention." His father reminded him. Nischay nodded his head in response.

Now that he is in the place of his brother, is his brother happy? Now that Nathan is finally free, is he happy? What can Nischay do now? Can he escape? No. He has chosen this path, there's no going back now. After all, he cannot go against his father's decision. He can't let him down. He had realized, he is the heir. He will be the "prince" of France now. So, he has to make everyone proud. He has to prove his worth.

As their limousine entered the venue, paparazzi started to make their way towards them. Continuous flashing, clicking and questions began. Ignoring the questions, they just bowed towards the public and went inside. Although, while entering they could hear many questions.

"Mr.Malhan, where's your heir?"

"Nathan isn't present today?"

As they entered the hall, all the eyes turned their attention to them. There were many company's leaders present in that hall. Many of them smiled towards Nischay and his parents. He gave them a small bow. His father asked Nischay to accompany him as he went to greet other guests. He did so. After having a small chat with some of them, his father went towards the stage and asked for everyone's attention.

"Hello everyone. I hope you all are enjoying today's event. I have organized this event to make an important announcement." He started. All the media reporters gathered with their cameras and started to record him. The event was running live. "As you all must have noticed, Nathan is not present amongst today. And I'm being honest right now, there is no excuse to be made. I am very sorry to let you all know that, Nathan will not be present in any of our ceremonies and events anymore. He had made this decision for himself, by running away." Many gasps were heard as Mr. Malhan said his statement. People started to whisper to each other, completely surprised.

"And if I am being honest, I think he could never have been able to continue our legacy. So, as my statement says, Now that Nathan is not with us anymore, Nischay, my younger son will be taking over my position. All of you, please cheer for him." A loud chorus of clapping was heard as Mr.malhan finished with his speech. People had a smile on their faces, which is quite surprising for Nischay. He had thought people would not accept him.

Nischay went up on the stage and started, "Thank you to everyone. I am grateful to be having my family support for choosing this path. I will try my level best to not to disappoint anyone. I had made this decision, on my own without any pressure from my parents. I hope you all accept me." He finished and gave a bow. The media reporters wrote his statement. After the speech they went to greet others.

After greeting many of them, they head towards other family. As they stood infront of them, Nischay quickly realized something. He realized that he knew the girl standing beside the man, which seemed to be her father. The same look of realization occupied her face too. His eyes traveled to see the man standing infront of him, he saw that his face held a bothered look. Nischay moved his gaze to see other members of both the families and to his observation, the same look was pasted in everyone's face. Except for Nischay and the girl standing infront of him.

His father started, "Good evening, Mr.Campbell. Are you having a great time?" His tone had changed. The man infront of him smiled and nodded. "Good evening, Mr.malhan. Yes we're having a good time. Congratulations, young man and all the best for your future." He said facing Nischay. Nischay quickly bowed and thanked him. "Ah, I see Arreum has grown up nicely. How are your studies going, young lady?" Nischay's father asked her. Arreum bowed and started, "Good evening sir. Yes, my studies are going great. I just entered to a business school." Her voice was sweet yet mature. If he was being honest, she was beautiful and smart.

His father smiled at her. "This is my younger son, Nischay." He said and Arreum bowed to Nischay. He quickly returned it. "Why don't you guys go and see around? So that we Elders can have a quick talk?" Arreum father said. Both Arreum and Nischay looked at each other and agreed.

"Hey, fighter girl, what are you doing here?" Nischay asked Arreum as both walked, side by side. "Yah. What do you mean by "what am I doing here"? I'm here as the heiress to KS Corporations." Arreum said rolling her eyes. Nischay laughed and said, "Okay easy there. I was just asking. To be honest, I was just kind of surprised seeing you after yesterday's incident." Arreum stopped and looked at him. Noticing the sudden stop, nischay too stopped and turned back to face her. "Yah, what happened?" He asked. "You've still not apologized for the rude behavior, Mr. Rude boy?" She asked, crossing her arms. "What kind of apology? Why should I apologize to you?" He asked doing the same gesture. Arreum rolled her eyes and said, "Excuse me you, first, you didn't reply when I thanked you. Second, you're not apologizing. Who do you think you are?" Nischay rolled his eyes at her. "Don't "you" me. And, I did nothing wrong. I won't apologize." Arreum nodded and said, "fine. Don't." He was first shocked at sudden agreement but then nodded.

They went and greeted some guests and many of the reporters stopped them for asking questions, to which they replied but them got tired so they excused themselves. They ran hid behind a wall so that the reporters don't find them. "Ah, this is so pathetic. I really hate these ceremonies and events." Arreum said slowly. "Finally, something on which I can agree with you." Nischay said. He noticed her rolling her eyes and looking so done with the event. "Hey, you know there's a balcony upstairs and no one usually goes there, so what say? Wanna escape?" Nischay offered her. Arreum looked at him with her siren eyes and nodded. "Yes sir, please." He laughed and both of them went upstairs.

The sun was setting, the sky looked really beautiful. It looked like someone had painted it with beautiful colours. The wind was gently blowing. Both Arreum and Nischay stood near the railing of the balcony, admiring the beautiful view. Arreum let out a sigh. Nischay looked at her, confused, "Something wrong?" He asked softly. Arreum didn't look at him, instead she kept looking towards the beautiful view. "Nothing is right. Our lives are so colorless, aren't they? It's all about studies, business responsibilities, people pleasing, parent pleasing. We gotta look perfect. For others." He couldn't agree more. She was right. She was so right. "I know. But, what can we do? This is life. This is our life. We can't change it." He said, not knowing what to say. She was right after all. "I'm sorry." Arreum said, making Nischay confused. "For what?" "Sorry that your brother ran away. No doubt, he was so done with his life." Nischay looked down, nodding. "He was..hurting." He said. "I understand. Now you're stuck, with this "reputation and title" thing. Arreum said. Nischay chuckled and said, "So are you." Both of them laughed and looked at each other.

"It was nice to meet you, Mr.Prince" Arreum said smiling and disgusted at the same time, on her last word. She held out a hand for handshake. Nischay looked at her hands and smiled. "It was nice to meet you too, Ms.Princess." He said copying her as he shook the hand. Both of them laughed and decided to go back to their parents.
