That night, Kendrick and Anna sat down to talk. Kendrick was clearly upset, but he tried to keep his voice calm.
"I don't understand how this happened, Anna," he said. "We're engaged. You're supposed to love me."
"I do love you," Anna said quickly. "I just...I don't know what's happening to me."
"Well, you need to figure it out," Kendrick said firmly. "We can't get married if you're in love with someone else."
Anna felt tears stinging her eyes. She knew that Kendrick was right, but she didn't know how to make the feelings for Vinno go away.
"I'll try," she said softly. "I'll do my best to sort out my feelings."
Kendrick nodded, but Anna could tell that he was still upset. She knew that their relationship would never be the same again.
