After clicking his phone off, Adrien stared at the clutter of paperwork that laid out in front of him on the coffee table. No amount of comfort on his couch could ease him of the moment that flooded his mind once he looked through the papers. Everything was a reminder of what had happened nearly 3 months ago. He wasn't even sure how much time had passed; everything had been one big blur of motion from his perspective.

He watched as Plagg dozed off on the coffee table tucked under one of the papers, cheese in hand. It was a refreshing sight after reading such tiny black printed words over and over again.

His father's attorney had warned him that he would be sent these papers, but he wasn't exactly prepared to get them delivered to his door by her. She was the only reason Adrien had any contact with his father before the court date.

That day was just horrific on its own.

It had only been six weeks since entering that courtroom when he testified against his own father. The whole process was publicized on the internet for the whole world to witness. With how public the whole case was, Adrien was on edge for the entirety of it. Granted, he had always grown up with a spotlight on him, but this time the light was tainted.

He couldn't even imagine how it was for Marinette, who also testified and was breathing evidence of his heinous crimes. She had barely ever touched the public eye, let alone her first experience being a court case against Monarch himself. Adrien argued against it, that she should have stepped aside and let the justice system handle it without her. Of course, she stated that she needed to do it—to make sure he spent the rest of his life behind bars. With that, Adrien couldn't disagree with her. He, too, wanted the same outcome for his father.
