Marinette watched as her best friend stood at the altar right in front of her, staring into the eyes of her now husband. Alya was absolutely beautiful. It made Nino a nervous sobbing mess when he saw her walk down the aisle. Marinette knew her friend was counting on that to happen.
Alya's dress flowed down to the ground with her train sweeping behind her. Of course, Marinette had a whole fitting for the dress when she had designed and made it, but it was another feeling watching her creation on Alya's body when she walked toward the altar. Marinette couldn't help but feel proud of herself for her work.
With thin straps over Alya's shoulders, the fabric around her waist and hips was a snug fit, allowing her curves to be accentuated with the lace. The tulle draped down into a trumpet-shaped skirt, flowing elegantly onto the floor. The beading was glimmering under the soft yellow lights of the venue. She was absolutely breathtaking, and Marinette couldn't be any more proud of her. This was something Alya had been talking about since they graduated high school together. Now, the day had finally come.
"You may now kiss the bride," declared the officiant, his voice resonating throughout the room.
With no second to spare, Nino scooped Alya into his arms and placed a passionate kiss on her lips, holding her as he leaned forward. She smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck.
The echoing of claps and cheers bounced throughout the venue as the now-married couple parted, the piano starting to play over the sounds of friends and family. Alya and Nino, hand in hand, started to walk back up the aisle.
Marinette and Adrien were the first to meet in the center and pace after them. Adrien stepped away from Nino's side of the altar and held his arm out with a broad smile. He looked as sharp and handsome as ever in his tux. It wasn't hard to tell that Marinette was a sucker for guys in suits.
She hooked her arm through his, holding her bouquet with her other hand. The two walked back up the aisle, watching Alya and Nino wave at family members as they strolled toward the wooden doors.
Adrien leaned over, his mouth by her ear. "I know I don't know much about weddings, but I thought the bride was supposed to be the most beautiful woman. Yet, here you are," he said in a low voice.
Marinette couldn't help the wide smile that crept up on her lips, feeling her cheeks grow warm. Thankfully, she wore enough makeup that he wouldn't notice. "You look as handsome as ever, Kitty."
"You know, this won't be the last time we're walking across the aisle together."
No matter what, Adrien slyly mentioning marriage to Marinette never failed to make her shyly look away to hide the vivid blush that spread across her cheeks. She was convinced he was doing it on purpose. He knew damn well what he was doing.
"What do you say, M'lady?" he continued to tease as they walked through the doors, dragging behind the newlyweds.
She rolled her eyes. "If this is your idea of a proposal, you really know nothing about weddings."
"Maybe... But all I know is that I'll get to spend the rest of my life with you."
Marinette wasn't sure where all of this sappy stuff was coming from. All she knew was that she didn't exactly want him to stop. She was already used to his affection after unknowingly spending over six years with him.
"You should definitely catch the bouquet later for me," he added with a wink.
"Maybe I will."
Who knew one day, Adrien Agreste would be the one to gush over her? Her teenage self would be screaming into her pillow right now.
