Chapter 4

We dumped the van in a river and went for a late night walk that was oddly romantic.

After we were done we decided to visit a bar for a drink to celebrate our success.

When we were done drinking, Alt kept her promise and invited me over to her place to stay for the night.

I had to sleep on the couch but that wasn't a problem at all.

I spend the night at her place, but one night turned into one week and she basically let me live in her place.

We completed two more gigs to earn some eddies and found out where Kerry lived before paying him a visit.

He was hesitant at first but we managed to convince him to join our little band that we decided to call "Samurai".

We began working on songs and even got a new member in. His name was Johnny and I could tell he was full of himself.

But he was a good musician. A good bassist to be exact.

A month has passed until we got our first concert, Alt and me got a lot closer in the meantime and were now officially a couple, which pissed off Johnny quite a lot.

What followed were months of writing songs along with a bunch of shows.

Our band was gaining a lot of attention and our earnings skyrocketed.

5 months after our first album, we released another one and followed it up with an US tour.

4 months after the tour we published our third album and made a tour in Europe.

A year has passed already and our band was still gaining popularity as if there's no tomorrow.

That's when things got complicated. Let's just say we got too popular.

Popular enough to be noticed by Arasaka.

During one of our shows, which was a small performance at a bar, Arasaka decided to join the party and smoked the building before storming it with a handful of their soldiers.

Everybody panicked but we managed to get out through the backstage area and escape with Johnny's car, which was a perfectly looking Porsche.

I suggested to leave Night City for a bit but that suggestion was met with heavy resistance, especially from Johnny and Kerry.

Can't blame them, Night City has grown on them pretty fast. They just love this city.

The only one that agreed with me was Alt.

Johnny: We can't just leave this fucking city! This is where we live the life we want to live for fuck's sake!

He shouted as he hit his hands against the steering wheel.

Kerry: It's alright Johnny, calm down.

Johnny: That's enough, Y/N has been trying to slow us down since I met him.

Y/N: What do you even mean? How am I slowing any of you down?

I genuinely had no idea what he was talking about.

Johnny: Let's be honest, you're useless anyways, we can find a new guitarist in about a month.

Y/N: Are trying to kick me out or something?

He stopped his car and looked back to me.

Johnny: You can leave yourself. It saves you the embarrassment.

Y/N: You can't kick me out.

Johnny: Watch me.

He pulled out a gun and aimed it at me.
