(The trailer starts with the 2Oth Century Fox logo until we see Chase speed through the screen leaving the logo Spin Master in the screen. Then we cut to the pups playing by the lookout.)
Rocky: This is such a beautiful day to play, isn't it?
Marshall: Indeed, it is. Nothing's happening today. Looks like we have a day off today.
(Suddenly, they hear something falling.)
Pups: Huh?

(They look up to see what was falling and then whatever it was, came down and caught them. Turns out, it was a cage!)
Everest: What the?! Why are we in a cage?!
Zuma: Hey! Let us out!
Chase: Let us out!
(Then a helicopter and grabs the cage they were in as they protested angrily. It then takes off really quickly.)
Pups: WOAHH!!!!
(Then they were transported to Rio as the helicopter reaches its location somewhere on a building and drops them.)
Pups: AHHH!!!
(They landed inside on the floor as they went dizzy for bit. They shook their head to stop the dizzyness and look and saw that they were in a den.)

Zuma: Huh? Whewe are we?
???: Why don't you look now?
Marshall: Who said that?
(A Cockatoo comes on top of their cage and looks down at them.)

Skye: Who are you?
Nigel: It is I, Nigel the Cockatoo!
Chase: So it was you who captured us!
Nigel: Yes indeed! Because....
(He shows them a picture of them with words saying "WANTED. RARE SPECIAL TEAM PUPPIES. $10,000." They looked shocked at first and then turned angry. They figured out what he's going to do.)
Chase: He's going to sell us in exchange of one hundred thousand dollars!
Marshall: Yeah! He thinks were part of an "exceptionally rare species team" of puppies!
Nigel: Yes you are! Now I have you! *Laughs Evily*
(Suddenly, Nigel felt the pups struggling to get out as they thrash around. Nigel flies away as the cage falls over. It glows red until it explodes. Smoke floods the screen until it clears away to reveal the pups are free.)
Rocky: *Growls* Alright, come out Nigel!
Skye: Where are you?!
(They look around for him until they saw something shocking)
Pups: (Screams)
(They see two blue macaws in a cage looking at them sadly.)
Pups: (Screams)
(They saw a bunch of trapped birds)
Nigel: (Laughs) Yeah, me and the other smugglers caught every single bird here! (Laughs again)
(The Pups look at him angrily as they then growl in anger)
