Xie Lian gazed down at his husband lovingly, he was so unimaginably beautiful. From his face to his mind the god loved everything. Every detail to the eyelashes he has to the way his fingers curled.

Xie Lian couldn't possibly tell you only one thing he loved about his husband. It's an impossible question. Xie Lian refused to pick just one.

No he'd fill pages and pages with all the details, big and small, everything thing that makes up Hua Cheng Xie Lian loves.

But it goes deeper than that.

To him Hua Cheng was his world. His life his soul.

Hua Cheng would repeatedly say without his highness he would not be here, and much the same, Xie Lian would not be alive and free with his strength to live if not for San Lang.

He would go through so many hardships just to meet this man. In every lifetime. For every reincarnation of himself, Xie Lian would suffer and he'd chose to suffer if it meant Hua Cheng would come and save him.

Hua Cheng was his driving force.

And he'd do nothing to change that fact. All his hardships, all his trauma, his suffering means nothing to him as long as Hua Cheng is by his side.

In the same selfish streak as his husband. If San Lang wasn't here, he wouldn't stick around either.

"Good morning my love." Xie Lian mumbles down, adoring eyes gleaming with love, when Hua Cheng stirs awake.

Hua Cheng pouts and Xie Lian's heart bursts. The god's eyes crinkle in happiness, Hua Cheng learnt to sleep for him. They sleep each night side by side because Hua Cheng wants to indulge in Xie lian silly human side.

Hua Cheng learnt to fake breath for him, to give the god comfort. To make him more real, more comforting, to have a still heart beat for him.

For a ghost, even one as powerful as Hua Cheng this is not easy to do. It's not easy to force a dead body to mimic what it once was. It's unnatural and against the forces of the world but Hua Cheng did it, still does it and all because his love for Xie lian is more powerful.

Their love for each other is far more powerful than anything the three realms could muster.

All that's done is to make the god more comfortable, happier, safe. What would this man not do if it was for Xie Lian! The god is almost scared to know. Scared to think what crazy extremes his goofy husband would take if he thought it would benefit him.

Hua Cheng's pout deepens at the affection being thrown at him and he grumbles something. The ghost fights the urge to burry his face in Xie Lian's side to hide. But he knows Xie Lian can see his desire. Between the two of them there are no secrets. Each other can be read easily and they'd have it no other way.

"Don't be so grumpy just because I woke up first." Xie Lian giggles, leaning down to kiss the other. It smooths out the crease in Hua Cheng's brow but the pout stays firm. Unyielding like the ghost's personality. And hasn't he always been like that?

With that pout on Hua Cheng's lips Xie Lian can't help but think back to the tiny kid he saved all those years ago.

That boy, Hua Cheng with a different name, had the same little pout whenever someone tried to pry him away from the prince.

Hong hong'er the little mischief maker. The child with the awful future the kid who Xie Lian would save.

The god sighs. So much time has past. It's been so long. Days turn into years. Years into decades and decades into centuries.

How long has it been now? Almost a millennium? So much has happened and for him to end up here and happy it's... well it's a miracle really. A few hundred years ago Xie lian would have expected to fade away into oblivion. There was no life, no future for him back then. Not that he could see.
