Kuroko's P.O.V:

Beep-beep. Beep-beep.

Hearing my alarm go off, I slowly sat up and reached over to turn it off. I scrolled through the notifications on my phone, checking to see if there was anything important. One notification caught my eye though, it was a text from the CEO of Midorima Hospital.

I tapped on the message and read it carefully. It said:

[  Hello Kuroko-kun, hope your doing well! Sorry to bother you, but could you please do me a favor? It's a bit of a tough one, but I know you can handle it. You see, my son's a pediatrician, but he's terrible with kids. I know you have a knack for the little ones, so could you please assist my son until he gets the hang of it? Thanks!

P.S. He may be prickly to work with, but once you get to know him better, you'll know he's a kind man.  ]

I smiled a little at the last part. It made me think of one of my students who was also like that. Unfriendly in the beginning, adorable in the end. I gave her text a small, short reply, saying it was no problem and that I'd be glad to work with him.

I went to the bathroom to wash up for the day, hoping to make it to the hospital earlier than usual.

Midorima's P.O.V:

I sat in my desk chair, looking through the list of patients I had to meet today. There were a bit more people than usual, but it was fine. My only hope was that they didn't burst into tears upon seeing me.

While scrolling, I heard a small knock on my door.

"Come in." I said, turning towards the door.

With a clack, the door opened and in came a man with baby blue hair, pale skin, and dazzling arctic blue eyes, deeper than any other. He really was beautiful. He gave me a small, shy smile. My breath hitched.

"Hello. I'm Kuroko Tetsuya, nice to meet you." he said, bowing his head slightly.

Snapping out of my daze, I said, "Midorima Shintaro here, nice to meet you too." I stood up and and held out my hand for him to shake.

Kuroko reached over and shook my hand. His hand was so small compared to mine.

"You must be the one the CEO requested assistance from?" I questioned.

"Yes." he answered. "To help your patients not cry, right?" he added, with a small laugh.

I couldn't help but find myself trying not to smile along with him before remembering that it was rather embarrassing for a pediatrician like myself.

"Apparently. I've tried many different techniques, but all ended in failure. I hope you will be as helpful as the CEO promised." I said.

"Without a doubt, Dr. Midorima." he smiled.

I explained to Kuroko about how appointments worked and when he could help. Soon, it was time for the first appointment.

A woman and a little girl walked in, the girl already looking terrified. But her scared expression immediately changed when she laid eyes on Kuroko. Her face lit up, eyes wide and excited.

"Kuroko-sensei!" she squealed, running over and giving Kuroko a big hug.

Kuroko let out a surprised little laugh and pat the little girl's head. "Hello Himari!"

He then turned to the girl's mother. "It's a surprise to see you here Miss Aki."

"It's also a surprise to see you too Mr. Kuroko. Do you work here?" the mother asked.

"No, not officially. Just volunteer work. Today I'm helping Dr. Midorima here." Kuroko said, gesturing at me.

"Oh! Yes, hello Dr. Midorima, nice to meet you. Sorry that I got completely distracted. Himari's here for her shot today."

"No, all is fine. Shall we proceed with the appointment?" I said, standing up and adjusting my glasses.

Upon hearing the words 'shot' and 'appointment', the girl hid behind Kuroko, having a scared expression once again. My brows furrowed a little. I prayed to my self that she wouldn't cry, but I could already see little drops gathering at her eyes and her trembling lip. Noticing this, Kuroko knelt down so that he was face-to-face with the girl.

"Now, now, Himari. Why are you crying?" Kuroko said, in a tone that was sweet and reassuring.

"B-because t-the boys as school said it really, really, really hurt when the doctor does a    shot..."

Kuroko raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "That's because their a bunch of scaredy-cats who exaggerate when they don't need to. I know that you're far braver than they are, right?"

"Right..." said the girl, no longer trembling. She anxiously looked up at me.

"Please make it super fast." she said.

"Of course." I responded, putting on my gloves and getting the syringe ready.

Her mother helped her up on the patient's bed. After sanitizing her shoulder I applied some anesthetic. I then carefully put in the shot and put on a bandage.

              "All done." I said.

              "Huh? Really?" Himari said, surprised.

I nodded and she grinned brightly. For some reason, I felt nice. A new feeling swept over me, like a warm blanket or something. It made my heart feel much lighter.

"See? Your teacher was right Himari." said Miss Aki. "Now let's go home. Say thank you to Dr. Midorima and Mr. Kuroko."

The girl thanked Kuroko and I, before she went off skipping next to her mother. I watched as the two left and my door closed.

"And that's how you do it." said Kuroko. "What do you think? Feels nice, no?"

"I guess so." I admitted. I stared at Kuroko in wonder. Was this what they call a teacher's charms?
