When Our 2 Worlds Re-Collide For Someone Else- a rini story

1. Before It All Started

Nini had been feeling sick recently, she wasn't sure why. It wasn't like she had a cold or anything, her head wasn't pounding like it usually was when she got sick, her nose was congested, she was just extremely nauseous.

On top of that, she couldn't get her mind off of her...encounter with her ex 6 1/2 weeks ago. She had to admit, she missed his touch. Not only that, she missed him. She still did, even after all those years. She loved him, and she wasn't sure if she'd ever stop. After all, people say you never stop loving your first love.

On the bright side, she barely graduated. Literally, she graduated yesterday. She wasn't sure if she was going to continue living in LA, but for right now, that's the plan.

Currently Nini's driving towards the local doctors office. She had called her doctor this morning and she managed to squeeze in an appointment. When she arrived, there were no parking slots available as in it was in between many stores so she had to park in front another store. Which happened to be a baby store. For some odd reason, she felt drawn to it. Not in a 'omg those clothes are so adorable' way, because she always feels like that with anything about babies, though this time it was different. She stared at it for what felt like an eternity before shaking off the weird thought and kept on walking.

Arriving to the office, she checked in and the feeling she had earlier this morning returned. A feeling that something was about to change. Nini couldn't tell if that was a good or bad thing.

After several minutes she was led inside by the doctor. They started by taking her weight and height, than blood pressure, temperature etc.

"Follow me this way." The kind nurse said as she led her to a room down a narrow hall. Nini sat on the bed, and grabbed her phone to entertain herself as she waited for the doctor to arrive.

She played a few games and checked messages until she heard a knock on the door. Nini said come in. "Hello, miss Nina." The young doctor smiled. "Hi." "So, can you maybe explain what type of sickness you've felt these last few days." The doctor asked. "Oh uh, well weirdly enough just a bunch of nausea. And some foods I usually love just smell sound and taste horrible." Nini added. Those words caused the doctor to stop typing. She readjusted her glasses and gave Nini a knowing nod. "Nina, by any chance have you been sexually actively lately?" The doctor asked. That question took Nini aback. "What?" She whispered. "Look, i don't mean to alarm you but what you just described to me is what morning sickness looks like about six weeks into pregnancy." Nini couldn't believe what she was hearing. Then it hit her. Ricky. "Um, I mean i hooked up with my ex cuz we were drunk...six weeks ago." Realization dawned on her. "I'd like you to take a pregnancy test." The doctor handed her a cup to pee in, then giving her directions to the bathroom.

Nini shook after she was done. The cup was set on the counter but she couldn't stop the though she might be having a kid...Ricky's kid. She collected herself and wiped her tears.

Nini quickly stepped back into the room. The doctor took the urine sample from her and pulled out what seemed to be some fancy version of drug store pregnancy tests. The doctor told her it was best if she sat down, so she did.

"Nina, congratulations, your pregnant." The doctor informed her.
