MINDY HAD BEEN put in charge of keeping an eye on Carlyn. The drunk girl danced in front of Mindy, mind seemingly blank of all the events that had happened during the day. She kept asking where Wes was, and Mindy didn't have the heart to tell her so she lied and said he didn't come.

"Mindy, come dance!" Carlyn called out, pausing her movements to grip the girls hand. "Please."

"No," Mindy spoke to Carlyn like she was a child as she shook her head. "I don't want to dance. You dance!"

"But I don't want to dance by myself," Carlyn frowned, huffing. She reached into the pocket of her pants and pulled her phone out. "I'm calling Wes. He has to get his butt here because you're boring."

"No!" Mindy shook her head. "Actually, I will dance with you!"

"Yay!" Carlyn's face lit up, taking the girl's hands.

Their dancing was interrupted when Liv moved in between them, looking extremely upset. "Fucking asshole!"

Mindy turned towards her brother in confusion. Noticing the look on his face, she raised her hand and gave him a thumbs up. "Good job."

Carlyn's brows furrowed as she began making her way over to Chad, Mindy quickly following her. "What was that about?" she climbed over the back of the couch, plopping down next to him. "You made her really upset."

"Yeah," he mumbled, nodding. "I know."

"Chad, I'm bored," she whined, leaning her head on his shoulder.

He looked down at her, shifting so his arm was around her neck. "Oh, I'm sorry."

It didn't take long for Carlyn to fall asleep on him exhaustion getting the best of her. Chad carefully moved her head and placed it on the couch cushion so he could move, growing frustrating at his girlfriend's lack of response to his text messages.

"Okay," he finally decided, standing up to go look for her.

Mindy groaned. "Don't do it. Don't go outside after her!"

"She's not texting me back," Chad told her.

"Because she's probably dead," Mindy stated.

"Jesus, Mindy," Chad slid on his letterman jacket. "That's my girlfriend and I love her."

        "Was your girlfriend," Mindy corrected.

Chad's arm extended towards the tv, where Stab was playing. "You're just gonna sit here and watch a movie about our uncle getting stabbed?"
