At precisely five o'clock in the evening, the November sky began to darken. The air took to a pleasant cooling down from the warm winter day. It was also this time when the Dolenz Circus opened the carnival walkways to its guests.

Although the circus performances itself were failing miserably to the eyes of onlookers, the carnival was still a spectacle for all families. That's not to say that Phil Spector hadn't gotten his hands all over these attractions, too, however. Months ago he had acted, hiking prices and scrutinizing performers who were going about their business here in the lights and the fun. But largely, the carnival remained unchanged. Composing of one long strip that took up little less than half of the big top tent, the carnival midway boasted many attractions.

Some of these attractions compiled to show a hall of mirrors, an exotic menagerie, and a fortune teller's wagon. There were also three small live musical stations in the walkway- one toward the beginning by the ticket stand, one in the middle, and one towards the end. Besides these, there were tents where people could walk into, such an entomology tent that was run by John Entwistle when he wasn't cooking for the staff, a tent full of exotic birds that young Stevie Nicks operated, and even a large and luxurious big cat tent, which was overseen by their trainer, Richard Wright. Of course, there were other things here. Food carts and wagons, certainly, but also games. Balloon popping, the dunk tank, a horse race stand, and many various ball toss stations. There was also small rides, including a carousel, a short roller coaster, spinners, and one walk-through haunted house.

Currently, Robert Plant was walking past the very last song performer stage, away from the carnival and up toward the back stage area of the circus. He had to climb over the giraffe enclosure's fence, weaving through their long legs and saying hello to their curious faces before he ducked under a tent flap, where he was under the safety of the big top.

The trapeze captain navigated himself from the storage corner into a well lit area full of costumes. Through the commotion of all the performers getting ready, one voice stood out to him among all the rest.

  "Where'n fuck's my hat gone?!"

  Robert smiled. There he was.

"Hey, now listen, then! I'm not your nanny, I can't keep all yours and my clothes straight at the same ti-"

  "Bonzo!"

The big blond came gliding up with his usual smile and charm. He saw two clowns as of now, Davy Jones in front of a mirror putting his grease paint on, and John Bonham, who was stepping into the legs of his suit.

Davy seemed very relieved that the Falcon had entered. He smiled and motioned to the trapeze artist dismissively. "Ah, see! Rob's here now, he's the best person to play your keeper."

Bonzo looked up from arranging the ankle cuffs over his feet, scowling. "Bah, Percy's got the brains of a bird. Boy can't even remember what 'e's had for breakfast!"

"And lunch, and supper by the time I've had it." Plant smiled, and put his hands on his hips as he watched his brunet friend hoist up the polka-dot pants. "Lost your hat again? Or have the little elves gone and run off with it?"

  "Ah, piss off," Bonzo growled.

  Robert just grinned even more.

"Can't even find your shirts after you've tossed 'em off before bed, don't gimme this shit," Bonham continued to grumble as he pulled an arm through a sleeve.

From behind the larger clown, Davy Jones was making hand signals and faces that let Robert know that his friend was in a rather touchy mood.

"Aw, c'mon, then. It's just a hat! It's around here somewhere," Plant said in a more soothing tone, stepping toward the shelves that held various clothing items and props. "What, is it that old bowler hat of yours?"
