Mikaela wouldn't say it out loud, but she was actually relieved when she saw Thomas get into the van and sit down next to her mother. She had a reason to dislike him, but she didn't want to see him become a giant snowman's snack.

"Better put your seatbelt on." He said, while buckling Sarah's and his own belt.

Only then did she realize that with everything that had happened so far, she hadn't thought about that detail. She put on her seatbelt and glanced at Thomas out of the corner of her eye. He's thoughtful and cautious, that much I have to admit.

It was a little strange to see the blonde's dedication to taking care of everyone, especially since the image didn't match the idiot who exploded a shit bomb on her front door.

"Are we going to the sheriff's house?" she asked, throwing her thoughts to the back of her brain.

Daniel, already putting the van in motion, glanced at them in the rearview mirror.

"What time do you think the supernatural snooze fell on the city?" The rocker asked.

"I don't know, maybe around eight?" What time was it when we got back to the clearing and found everybody with the monsters? Thomas wanted to know.

Mikaela vaguely remembered the time, having snow monsters on her trail was the kind of thing that made you forget to look at the clock, but maybe Thomas' guess wasn't so far off the mark.

"What difference does it make anyway?" She asked Daniel.

"My uncle leaves the police station at about six o'clock. Before going home, he always stops at that mechanic shop they have on the way to the suburbs. I think maybe he's there and not at the police station." The rocker explained.

"Tony's workshop? Are you sure?" Thomas asked.

"Think about it, whatever happened caught everyone off guard. People were following their usual routines, it doesn't make much sense to imagine that my uncle would have stayed to work overtime. Especially on Christmas Eve, don't you think?"

Neither of them said anything for a while, but Mikaela could understand the boy's reasoning, maybe he was right. Not to mention that if her street had already been visited by the evil snowmen, the police station was probably already surrounded by enemies.

"Alright, then let's go to Tony's. If you're right, from there it will be easier to get to my house. " Thomas said.

Daniel was right, Mikaela knew that when she saw the smile on the boy's face as soon as they parked in front of the mechanic shop. The doors were open and the lights on. She could see two motorcycles and a red pickup truck inside the main hall.

"His car is here." He said, pointing to a blue car with yellow stripes parked in front of the garage. "I knew it!"

Thomas opened the van door, wielding his golden shield for a possible fight. Mikaela took a deep breath and pressed the baseball bat into her hands, but when she started to get out of the van, the blonde stopped her.
