Daniel didn't remember exactly how he ended up in his bed in the palace of the North Star, but he slept like never before in his short life. His dreams were confusing and marked by snow, blood-colored eyes and a giant wolf that wouldn't stop stalking him. Somehow, he knew that the fear emanating from that monster would never leave him.

How can I wake up from this nightmare? How do I get rid of the fear?

Immersed in the darkness of unconsciousness, his answer came in the form of a sweet kiss on his lips.

"Fear doesn't go away, but we can learn to live with it. You don't have to face it alone, man." Jonas' voice in his mind made him smile and open his eyes.

Daniel sat up in bed and brought his fingers to his lips. He was still smiling and, although he couldn't explain it, he felt that this dream was more real than he could have imagined.

"You two are like the most annoying happy couple of all time. You know that, right?" He said as he looked to the side and saw Thomas and Mikaela sitting on the windowsill.

Thomas, predictably, blushed. But the way Mikaela looked at him made Daniel realize that he needed to change the subject as soon as possible.

"Have you guys gone to see your families yet?"

"We woke up a little while ago and were about to wake you up to do this together." Thomas stood up and took the lead.

They left the room and practically ran to the huge hall where the people of Cleston were being treated.

As they approached their destination, Daniel was already wondering how they were going to explain things to everyone, but when they opened the door, only one question came to his mind.

"What the hell?"

Instead of the huge room full of beds and sleeping people, they found a much smaller room with six armchairs and a fireplace. Santa Claus, Ylerio and Noelle were waiting for them, drinking something hot from a mug.

With the Christmas decorations in the room, the whole image could pass for a television commercial, if it weren't for the fact that the Valkyrie had her battle axe resting on the armchair.

"Where did everyone go?" Mikaela put into words what he couldn't stop wondering.

"All the victims of the witch's magic are free, and we've returned them to their homes. But we haven't freed them from the sleep magic yet because we need to make sure they don't remember anything they witnessed." Santa explained and pointed with his mug to the empty armchairs. "In addition to erasing memories, we'll have to forge many others. It's not good to leave a hole of days in people's minds, it never ends well. However, our fight has come to an end, and for now we can rest."

If the old mage thought that explained anything, Daniel figured it would be good if someone paid him classes on how to answer things clearly and precisely.
