sensitivity

this place is coarse
a fearful child lives in
sniffels and shivers within
his own universe

deep as the deepest ocean
are his eyes
he detects every motion
and sees through all lies

he chose to feel less
terrified of his softness
he hated seeing vividly
frightened by his sensitivity

on a tiny, distant island
he built a wall made of diamonds
ripped off pieces of his crystal heart
so he wouldn't fall apart
