Modern au, Ed Sheeran (it makes sense I promise), as said before the term 'girly' is used, fluff, slightly self indulgent (I'm not sorry), there's a moment where the reader is seen as shorter than him, not fully proofread (I need sleep, I'm sorry)

This has been one of the worst weeks so far. You've just found your partner cheating on you, after they promised that they'd change, you've been with them for so long, so you weren't to sure how to go about life as usual. Sure you hadn't moved in with them yet, but you were definitely planning on it. You thought that for once in your life, something good had come out of it, but it hadn't.

You groan as you put your phone down, trying to forget the week you just had, as you heard a notification come from it. You turn it over to see a text from Hu Tao reading as follows;

Tao Tao
Heyyy! wanted to check in to make sure you're coming 2nite! :p

You smiled at your phone, just seeing your friend's name pop up on screen made you so happy, as you realize that you made plans to go out with them earlier that week, as you think about still going, you realize that a distraction might be good for you.

As soon as you get there though you feel nervousness wash over you, as you feel a presence behind you, you jump at the sudden feeling of someone tapping your shoulder.

"So jumpy today, huh girly?" you turn to the familiar voice, looking up to your (stupidly) tall friend, Childe. He beams down at you, smiling at you, you almost forgot all about your week, as you feel a tug on your arm.

"C'monn, let's go!" you hear your friend Hu Tao say as she starts dragging you to your private room, as you notice your other friend Zhongli sigh at his boss's energetic pace.

Once you've all gotten there, you quietly have a sigh of relief at the fact you had a private room, and didn't have to sing in front of a large audience. You notice Childe deciding to be the first one to get up and sing, you giggle softy to yourself wondering how this is going to go. He picks the first song, as he alters some of the lyrics so it's more 'themed' around him, using words like 'tartagalicious'. You couldn't tell if you should laugh or cry our of second-hand embarrassment, as you turn to Zhongli as he shrugs, and in return you shrug back, softly laughing to yourselves at how he looks right now.

As he finishes his song, and basically 'plops' onto the spot next to you, "So, what do ya think girly? Could I be the next Ed Sheeran?" he nudges you gently and playfully winks. "You may look the part, but I'm not to sure," you respond back. "I- wait- what's that supposed to mean?" he turns back to you. "Figure it out, 'Ed Sheeran'," you say sarcastically, giving him a friendly smile after, as he then proceeds to dramatically grab his chest and pretends to fall out of spite, as you gently poke him, telling him to get up.

A few more rounds of karaoke pass by, as you stayed sitting and choose not to sing, "C'mon Y/N, you should sing at least one song! I'll sing it with you!" Hu Tao says enthusiastically, dragging you from your seat gently. You all laugh at her efforts, as you sigh, "Finee, just one song though."

She lets you choose the song as you sigh to yourself, picking the most fitting one, 'Shape of You', as you look over to Childe as he looks at you and sighs, trying to look annoyed while the smile on his face says otherwise while you shrug.

Once the song finishes, he looks at you and sighs, "Really? Shape of You?" "Don't act like I don't have a video of you singing 'Shape of You', Mr. Ed Sheeran," you say as you smile.

Sooner or later, you all have to leave to go home, seeing as if you didn't you all would stay for to long, while it was already getting so late. "I'll drive you home, yeah?" Childe says looking down towards you, as you nod compliantly.

The drive on the way home was mostly quiet, it wasn't uncomfortable or awkward, just quiet, with the exception of the music playing in the car. You sigh as you stare out the window, slowly falling asleep, as he looks over to your tired state. You slowly falling asleep eases his mind, knowing that you had an eventful night.

Sooner or later he finally gets to your home, not wanting to wake you up, he takes your keys to unlock your door, and picks you up bridal style and brings you into your home. He takes off your shoes and places you on the bed, trying not to wake you.

"Childe?" you say quietly. "Yes girly?" he replies softly, trying not to break the atmosphere of calm.

"Thank you.." you say as you slowly drift off.

"Anytime."

A/N: I'm so sorry if this isn't that good lol- I wrote/am writing this at 12 am in the morning and I have school in 8-ish hours (?) I couldn't sleep so have this thing I thought of<3 I have also never been to a karaoke bar, but they sound fun, so I apologize for any mistakes i made</3 (I feel like most of the fandom has seen Griffin Burn's covers, but there was a few references to it if you couldn't tell)
