It had been nearly 3 months since the night Nikki told Kristen he did not want her anymore. It had been 3 months since Nikki fell back into his addiction. He was taking the perfect life he had built for himself and was ripping it to pieces. Just a month ago Nikki had packed all his shit and left Donna and their baby, Frankie, whom they had just had together. Nikki was too far gone to worry about anyone other than himself and heroin. Nikki had rented a quaint condo in Malibu where Tommy had also recently moved to. The two of them had fallen back into their old friendship, drinking and partying every night and damaging themselves.

Nikki kept telling himself he was happy, the happiest he had been in years. But just like before when he was on this happy drug there was an empty space in his heart he could not seem to fill. No matter how many women, drugs, or love from his fans, Nikki could not force himself to honestly be happy like he had been. He had become Sikki again, mad at the world, and did not care about anyone but himself. The one person he did still care about he kept locked away in the back of his mind. Sometimes when he would get too high he would see her in his head, seeing what their life could have been, seeing her face each time he broke her heart. He would try and hide her with more and more drugs, higher, higher, and higher until he hit the roof and came falling down.

He felt hopeless.

Nikki had been so out of it this day that he did not even realize where they were until he saw her again. He remembers Tommy coming over and dragging him out of bed and forcing him to get dressed, the ride to the club they were at was a blur. All he knew was that he was sitting in the corner of the circular booth slouched over with a slowly melting Jack and Coke. He heard her laugh first, he was thinking it was one of his drug-induced hallucinations. His eyes scanned his area trying to find Tommy and he saw them leaning against a wall talking to each other. Tommy had a bright smile on his face and Kristen had her hand resting on his forearm. Nikki had to blink a few times to register that it was actually her talking to him. She had dyed her hair darker, being more of a brown color now and she looked so healthy. The longer Nikki and her were in their limbos at different times she was losing more and more weight and it warmed Nikki's cold heart to see how much better she was looking, his Kristen.

He rubbed his hands over his face trying to wake himself up some and poured the remainder of his drink down his dry throat. He stumbled his way over to where they were talking. Just as he neared where they were he saw Tommy lean in and kiss her, a quick loving kiss. Nikki stopped in his tracks at the scene playing out in front of him. He felt the tension rise in his shoulders as he began walking to them. When he got there he shoves Tommy and grabbed his arms causing the drummer to look at his best friend bewildered.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing Tom?" Nikki all but screamed at Tommy, causing bystanders to spin their heads in their directions. Tommy yanked his arm back and shoved Nikki back.
