At night ,
The word Love was continuously ringing in his mind. He was with here from childhood , but he never thought of this. That's what which was confusing him. May be because he didn't know what love is , what would it feel like when you're in love because Monami was someone who grew with him , lived with him. She was definitely his priority in life , but that doesn't prove the aspect that he is in love with her. According to him , Monami was his lifeline , a reason for himself , and a mark of destiny of his.
K(chuckled) - I've been loving you all these days , aur yeh baat mujhe pta bhi nhi thi.
His curves suddenly went down , showing up a sad face or may be an afraid face.
K - par kya Monami bhi mujhse pyar karti hogi , agar ha toh usne shadi ke liye ha kyu kiya ?
His trance broke when he heard some noises from the kitchen. Being confused he went to the kitchen. It was dark there , so he switched on the lights , only to witness Monami standing there with a glass of water. She was still in her engagement dress , with all her accessories removed and hairs tied in a messy bun.
K - it's 12 am right now , you haven't slept ?
M - vo i am not feeling sleepy , so I just came here to drink some water. Par andhera tha toh kuch dikha nhi , aur plates gir gyi.
She said pointing towards the broken plates.
She was about to pick them up, when Karan held her chin and made her look towards him.
K - tum thik ho ? Tumhe toh nhi lgi na ?
M(smiled faintly) - nhi , mujhe kya hoga , main toh bilkul thik ho.
K(shock his head) - nhi , chalo mere saath.
M - arré par kahan ?
K - walk par.
M - abhi , kal meri shaadi hai , if aunty comes to know
K - thodi der ke liye , please na. We'll return in half in hour , i promise.
M (sighing) - thik hai , chalo phir.
It's been 10 minutes , but none of them uttered a word. It was just new for them. He who desperately wanted to know her feelings , initiated the conversation.
K - so , Rani Sahiba , kal toh tumhari shaadi ho jaayegi , tum US chali jaaungi , finally tumhe apne khadoos se chutkara mil jaayega , haina ?
His voice shivered while saying this.
The moment his words ended , he found her stopped walking , as she stood glued to the road , starting at nothing , but they seemed to be on the verge of crying.
M- really , tumhe yeh lgta hai ? Rani Sahiba aur khadoos shergill khatam ? Itna hi jaante ho tum mujhe ? Tumhe pta hai kitna mushkil hai tumhe yahan chodd kar jaana ?
Her voice reflected pain.
M (taunting him ) - doosro ki feelings ko samjhna seekho pehle.
K - enough , did i force you for this decision. Infact , i was last person to know about this. Yeh jo bhi decision hai tumhara hai , mera nhi.
He then held her shoulders ,
K - bas bol diya na , ki dusro ki feelings se farak nhi padta mujhe , tumhe pta hai mujhpar kya beet rhi hai ?
(Pointing towards his heart) -yahan , yahan dard ho rha hai mujhe , tum uss dev ke saath dekh kar.
M - yeh tum kya keh rhe ho ?
K - i don't know mujhe yeh abhi bolna chahiye ya nhi , par
M - kya ?
K - Monami , itne saalon se janti ho na tum mujhe , ek baar bhi tumhe meri liye pyaar feel nhi hua ?
He said looking into her eyes.
The moment she heard these words , her eyes went even more wet , her lips started to quavering. She forgot to blink for a moment , what was she supposed to say to him ?
K - btao Monami , didn't you feel love for me anytime ?
(Tightening his hold on her shoulders ) - kabhi nhi ? Didn't you ever feel love for me ?
With no time , he felt her jumping onto him attaching herself in a hug. She hid her face in the crook of his neck and started crying hysterically. He placed his hand on her head and caressed it , peppering some soft kisses unknowingly. She clung more onto him , that her legs were slightly above the ground , by now it was just her continuous sobs which could be heard.
And suddenly out of nowhere , she pushed him away. Her face looked disaster struck , her puffy eyes again started watering. She roughly ran her hands through her hair , while he stood baffled.
K - Monami kya hua ?
He stammered while seeing her vulnerability.
Without answering him , she turned and ran towards the house.
K - Monami , Monami !
He shouted but she didn't stop.
Reaching back to her home , she rushed to her room and hit her bed after banging the door.
M (crying) - yeh kya ho gya ? Why ? Mere saath hi aisa kyu hota hai ? Why should I suffer all the time ? I couldn't express my love for Karan.
( After a pause ) - i am sorry Karan , i am really really sorry. I love you , i love you a lot. But , i can't tell this to you.
She said while remembering the conversation between Dev's mom and aunty.
M - main Suhana aunty ko hurt karna nhi chahti ho. Voh mere liye meri maa jaisi hai , main unki bezati nhi karva sakti.
Mera pyar unki khushi ke saamne haar chuka hai , I can't do this. I'm sorry , Karan.
She cried while shivering.
