9. Angel

I don't remember falling asleep last night but I wake up to an empty room and my alarm blaring. All the food is missing and the tv is paused, I reach for my phone turning off my alarm and quickly checking my messages.

Standing in my room I check myself in the mirror fixing my hair into a loose bun, throwing on my fitted Haas top and black jeans applying some light makeup. I grab my camera equipment throwing it in my bag and send Mick a text telling him i'm ready before leaving my room to wait for him in the lobby.

"Morning Alli! How was your night?" Mick joins me throwing his arm over my shoulders, a habit he's seems to have picked up. "It was nice, Lando and I ordered food in." I meet his eyes, he frowns slightly before quickly correcting himself "Lando was over?" his voice comes out weaker than before.

"He came to hype me up for today, I feel a lot better." I reply. "Did he stay over?" He analyses my face looking for a reaction

"No, I don't think so? He was gone when I woke up, I don't really remember falling asleep." I reply honestly.

"Oh right, i'm glad you feel better about today." He squeezes my shoulder lightly guiding me towards a table with a few of the team.

We head to the track arriving at 6.30 giving us plenty of time to get to our meeting. Mick opens the car door for me, offering his hand to help me out. We make our way towards the track, Mick's hand remains on the small of my back guiding me, stopping every so often to take photos with fans.

The meeting goes well, we discussed the plan for the weekend ahead. I introduce myself to the staff i'm not very familiar with before leaving with Mick to start his first interview.

I spend the day following Mick and Kevin around their media duties, getting some great photos of them interacting.

I spot a few of the drivers across the paddock but I'm way too busy trying to keep up with the busy schedule to properly chat which isn't great but i'm sure i'll see them throughout the weekend.

Overall, today was very hectic but I had a ton of fun and everything went over smoothly. I have a few hours towards the end of the day before Mick's ready to leave where I manage to go through and edit the best photos I'd taken today, uploading them for the media crew to go through. Leaving my evening free to wind down after the craziness of the day.
