1. Flowers

Alanna woke up to a loud knocking coming from the front door, quickly dragging herself out of bed; she opened the door to reveal a young-looking man holding a huge bouquet. "G'morning! Flowers for the beautiful lady." the man said before passing her the flowers. Confused, Alanna quickly thanked him as he dashed down the street.

The flowers were a beautiful assortment of pinks, purples, greens and whites wrapped neatly in brown paper. She dug through the kitchen cabinets for something she could put her new flowers in before landing on a simple pink vase. The only explanation for this surprise was the words 'A little housewarming gift <3' written on a small piece of paper.

Alanna's POV

Another knock on the door disrupted my thoughts and i'm immediately met with the familiar blue eyes of my best friend "Mick what're you doing here?" I feel his arms wrap around me and pull me into a tight hug. "Oh my God I missed you so much," he whispers as he runs his hand through my hair.

"Why're you here I thought you were in Abu Dhabi for another week?" I feel him pull away from me, one hand remaining firmly on my waist. "I desperately needed to come home i'm so exhausted" His face falls on my shoulder mumbling into it.

"Why didn't you tell me Mick? I could've picked you up from the airport and made breakfast?" His head snaps up and a cheeky grin spreads across his face "I had to get my best friend a surprise to cheer her up," He learns closer to me "Because I know you missed me soooo much." I playfully shove him off me "Was it you who sent me the flowers?" He silently nods grinning even more.

"Oh I brought breakfast!" Mick passes me a bag of pancakes I assume he picked up from a local bakery. "Mick you're way too good to me," I say grabbing his hand and leading him to the kitchen.

"I'm sorry they're not that fresh they might need heating up, i'll take you out for breakfast next time." He promises, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's perfect Mick don't worry, I will hold you to that promise though." I reply turning to the microwave and putting the pancakes in.

Micks POV

"I'm so excited to spend our first winter living here" I say looking at Alli expectantly. I watch her flick through Netflix looking for something to put on in the background, she lands on some random Sitcom then turned to me stuffing her mouth with the pancakes. "I know it's crazy, this place is so beautiful I love it, thank you."

Moving in together is something Alli and I have been wanting to do since we were kids, it started with this stupid unrealistic dream of living in Monaco like celebrities. With the last name, Schumacher I was already born into fame but Allana was from a well-off family coincidentally living right next door to my  family. Our families got along very well with her parents coming to most of my dad's races and our friendship just grew from there. Now, at 23 I'm finally fulfilling my dream of racing in F1, Alli is about to become a paddock photographer and we have the most incredible home in Monaco.

"So Alli how does it feel to officially be part of the F1 team next season?" I ask, noticing a slight smile appear on her face "Yeah yeah I'm so excited to be with you all at every race, officially I mean." I listen to her rambling on about how excited she is to be officially working in the paddock and spending time with everyone again. Alli's been photographing behind the scenes of the drivers for a couple years but this year she's getting an official contract to photograph for some of the teams so she'll be around for most if not all the races.

We chat for a bit about the year ahead of us and also decide we really need to finish decorating our new home. Alli was supposed to come a week before I was home but the season was so long and I really needed to get away from it all so she's only been here for just over a day so the house is a big mess.

"Can we go to IKEA tomorrow? I am so Jet lagged just going on a cycle would be nice, I think my bike should've been delivered earlier today." I plead "Of course!" Ally immediately gets up, taking our plates to the kitchen and quickly cleaning them before dragging me out the door.
