TWO.

"precious baby, good morning." kandi coos at her baby girl. naiya rubs a hand over her face, adjusting to the sunlight. letting out a small yawn, naiya smiles at her mother.

"guess who you're going to be with today? dada!" kandi says while laying naiya down on the changing table.

after getting changed, kandi takes naiya to her room and gets situated on her bed. her phone rings, kandi peers her eyes over, seeing that the contact name is donte.

she picks up her phone answering it, "hello?" kandi can hear the busy streets of cali in the background. "hey mama," donte says and kandi crosses her legs.

"hi." kandi quietly replies with as she fights the small blush on her face. "i'm on my way, it's a lil bit of traffic. you want me to grab y'all some food?"

"yeah, that's fine. thank you." donte grins when hearing how quiet kandi's voice gets, "you're welcome, i'll let you know when i'm outside, ma."

the phone call ends and kandi lays naiya on her chest, "your dada goin' to be the death of me, princess."

"wassup? give me a hug." donte says holding the food bag in his arm while walking through kandi's front door.

"you got food in your hands." kandi mumbles after closing the door behind him. she locks it, hearing naiya screeching, probably because of her father.

walking to the kitchen, kandi sees donte holding naiya close to his chest. "i got you a frappe, fries, and some nuggets."

kandi smiles, pulling the food out the bag. "you didn't have to do this, tae." smirking, donte stands next to kandi as she eats her food, "i'd give you the whole world if i could."

kandi sways her body back and forth, trying to hide how his sweet words make her feel. donte sits on a hair chair with naiya in his lap, "you wouldn't mind if i stayed the night so we can all leave for the plane at the same time, right?"

kandi stops eating her food to look up at donte, "uh.. no.. i wouldn't mind." he smiles at her response, standing up with naiya in his arms.

"good," donte says before trailing his eyes down kandi's body and going back to her face, "that's real good."

kandi hangs her head low with a blush burning on her face. "i'm going to go get ready." she walks away from donte fast so he wouldn't see the huge smile planted on her face.

"here's a key, for whenever you go back home and bring your bags back here." kandi drops the key on the kitchen counter.

donte looks up from his phone, looking over at the key before staring at kandi hard, "you're beautiful."

"you've been very nice to me lately, not that you're ever rude to me, but why?" kandi questions with a hand on her hip and donte continues to get flashbacks from her pregnancy days.

donte thinks about if he wants to tell her the truth about his motives, but he doesn't. "you deserve amazing things and encouragement. i'm glad to be the one to do those things for you, mama."

kandi leans forward to kiss donte on his cheek, "thank you." donte holds kandi's hands in his, "you know i always got you, nothin' happening to you as long as i'm on this earth."
