EIGHT.

"teacher planning day.. july 6th.. i don't know if i'll make it." kandi whispers to herself while reading the email on her ipad.

a calm sunday morning while naiya sleeps wildly next to her. though kandi doesn't mind of course, too busy catching up on work.

a text notification pops up on kandi's ipad and she presses on it, being reminded that she gave darren her number yesterday.

"hey beautiful, this is darren from the water park, i want to get to know you better."

kandi continues to read over the message before tossing her phone onto her dresser looking back down at her ipad. she didn't want darren thinking that this could elevate to a relationship.

especially since her and donte are complicated right now. kandi couldn't lie and say she doesn't miss him, because she does. but she's so confused as to who texted her during their trip in bali and why would donte be playing with her feelings like this.

kandi couldn't think of that right now though, she would see donte when she would see him. but for now, she decided that today she would spend it with her best friend, mia.

turning off her ipad, kandi slips out of her bed and heads inside her massive bathroom. turning on some music, kandi starts her skin care routine.

but kandi's mind kept constantly drifting to donte, she felt as if speaking with darren was wrong in her eyes.

what if donte knows about darren?

kandi stopped in her tracks, looking at herself through the mirror. "he can't know, right?" she asks herself. nah, it wouldn't even make sense for donte to know of kandi's interaction with darren. shaking her head, kandi continued her skin care routine before stepping inside the shower.

while washing her body, kandi hears the bathroom door push open knowing that it's naiya, "mommy?"

"yes sweet girl?" kandi asks peeking her head out of the shower to look at her daughter. "are we going somewhere today?" naiya asks and kandi nods her head with a soft smile on her face. "once i'm finished, i'm going to get you all cleaned and ready for the day, okay princess?"

"okay mommy, i'm going back to sleep." naiya says turning back around. kandi shakes her head, smiling before rinsing the soap off of her body with her rag. kandi steps out the shower a couple minutes later, wrapping a blue towel around her body.

after drying herself off, kandi moisturizes her body and puts on a beige bodysuit top with some jean shorts. kandi tops her outfit off with a few pieces of jewelry and vanilla sceneries fragrance to make her smell good.

placing her towel back in its right place, kandi wakes up naiya to get her ready for the day. "come on pretty girl, we're seeing auntie mia today." kandi says holding a sleepy naiya in her arms.

after taking her clothes off, kandi sits naiya inside of the tub and turns the water on warm, watching naiya splash water everywhere. "let mama clean you first, then you can splash water princess." kandi says washing naiya's body. she receives a pout from her pretty girl and laughs a little, "mommy's almost done."

once kandi finishes washing naiya up, she grabs a small pink towel and wraps it around naiya's body, pulling her out of the tub. "let's get you all dolled up now pretty girl."

kandi dries naiya up and starts getting her dressed, playing paw patrol to keep the little one entertained. once kandi is finished, she places naiya's feet inside of her pink crocs. "okay princess, mommy's finally done."

naiya runs over to the body mirror, smiling, "i look like a princess!" kandi smiles walking over to naiya, "that you do pretty girl. i'm going to grab my purse and we can head out the door princess."
