Lying prone on the ground, Arisu's face was a bloody mess. Despite the pain he undoubtedly felt from his various injuries he urgently explained to the crowd, "This is a Ten of Hearts game. A game that toys with people's feelings! It's not a game where you win by killing Aguni!"
Speaking directly to Aguni instead of the amasses players, Arisu continued, "You aren't the witch. So why? Because you have another motive."
"The one you killed was not Momoka. It was Hatter."
Aguni once again, made no attempt to defend against the accusations flung his way, face turned to the floor.
"I found out after I saw your eyes. It was as if you had given up all hope. Those eyes were the same as mine that day. Those eyes after I killed my friends." Arisu's voice broke from heartbreak, the guilt clearly still weighing heavy on him.
Kazumi remembered seeing Aguni's face the morning they found Hatter dead. She remembered thinking it was odd, but had neglected to give it a second though.
Arisu had to be very kind, to notice Aguni's hurt. He had managed to survive this long and keep an enormous amount of empathy. Kazumi felt a bit jealous.
"You're not dumb. Yet you wanted to kill everyone right from the start. That's not like you!" Holding his bruised side, Arisu slowly pulled himself to his feet. "You must have had another motive in mind. Ever since I came to the Beach I thought it was strange. If you had all of these firearms, the militants could have gained control of the Beach a long time ago. Yet you waited until now."
Now on his own two feet, he stood across from Aguni, bravely but shakily facing him down. "In reality, you weren't in conflict with Hatter at all. Didn't you both actually help each other? You wanted to make sure that dangerous people like Niragi don't go on a rampage."
The other militants were taken aback by the news, their previous 'freedom' now realized as nothing more than a tool.
The news didn't surprise Kazumi, having put together several pieces of the puzzle herself, but she was glad Arisu was able to complete the picture for her.
"Weren't you and Hatter best friends in reality?" Arisu had gotten a lot closer to Aguni, well within distance of the other man's fists. "Then why did you kill him?"
No response came from the other man.
"For some reason, you couldn't forgive Hatter for what he did. You wanted to stop Hatter and his mad ways."
Stepping even closer, Arisu concluded, "You wanted your best friend to regain his senses."
It was hard to tell from up on the balcony, but it seemed as though Aguni's face revealed his emotions while his body language remained unchanged, his mouth trembling in anger and guilt.
