Chapter 10

Cheonsa's pov

Three weeks had gone by, three weeks since the fight and three weeks since I found myself in a dilemma. Dambi and her parents had filed a police report and for once they took it seriously, they gathered all the evidence and Doyoung got sentenced to three years in prison. Which Bora and I thought weren't nearly enough, but there was nothing else to do. The academy expelled him and took back his scholarships. So in a way we succeeded in ruining his life.

Dambi herself was doing better little by little and was going to therapy for what happened. Heeseung had tried to be there as much as he could. Dambi decided to tell the group herself about a week and a half after it happened. Everyone was horrified but of course cheered her on as she did her best to move forward. Dambi had also admitted that the way Heeseung was so present made her like him even more. So me and Bora told her to make him understand that she loves him too. But alas the shy people won and she hadn't said anything to him.

I too hadn't said anything about the revelation of me actually, maybe, possibly still having a crush on Jay.

Speaking of Jay. We were back back to our old ways of teasing and mocking each other. And I didn't mind it. I mean I really just wanted to date him and be near him 24/7 but the old ways were enough.

Today I was at the café, working alone as Bora had soccer practice and Dambi was away with the school's choir. So little me was so lonely. Well not really. I brought Lucy and Chanyeol.

Chanyeol is my little brother, five years old and an adorable little demon I share everything with. Because he doesn't really understand when I say I like a boy that really is a pain in the ass. So technically I lied before because I told Chanyeol about Jay. And Lucy is our dog, a beautiful chocolate colored cocker spaniel. Even though she is six years old she still has a puppy face and personality.

She was sleeping soundly at my feet while Chanyeol sat atop the counter and drew in his coloring book. It was a long weekend for me. From Wednesday to Tuesday the following week since the school was getting renovated in some areas. I therefore picked up Chanyeol early and took him to the café. Because 1. I didn't wanna be too lonely, and 2. I felt I hadn't spent much time with him recently due to schoolwork and the project and practice. And he loves to just sit with me so I felt it fitting.

Jays band was playing and I found myself silently bop along to the music. They were good, really good. And I would tell them, but I couldn't risk him knowing that I liked him. And I guess liking the music his band plays isn't really a giveaway, but I'm paranoid so let me be.

I continued to take orders from the very nice customers and praising my brother as he was coloring the pictures really nicely.

"It's because you gave me this book noona, then I has to make it as beautiful as you" he said and looked up at me, smiling with chocolate muffin all over his mouth. I smiled and hugged him, pecking his cheek as I finished wiping all the crumbs away.

The wind chimes in the café softly played their music as the door opened and let in a gust of the slightly warmer late spring breeze. I looked at the door and smiled in surprise. My parents standing in the door with wide smiles. I flagged another worker over and started my lunch break as I made my way out from the register. My dad jokingly spread his arms wide and I laughed as I crashed in their embrace.

"Why are you off work so early?" I questioned and my mum just chuckled and kissed my cheek.

"Oh pearl, sadly we're not off yet, we have our lunch break and I wanted to give you this" she handed me a lunchbox and I smiled and opened it. It was kimchi fried rice, some pan fried tofu and an egg to top it off.

"Guess who made that perfect egg?" My dad said, overly excited and I just smiled at him. "The eggspert of course!" He explained and my mum and I just shook our head at his antics. "I'm just yolking, ha! Get it? Yolking, joking" he wiped non existent tears as I just laughed at him an thanked them both and then they were out the door. I waved my little brother over and he ran over to the small table in the back of the café. Lucy followed after and once again laid down by my feet.

I shared the lunch with Chanyeol and then I went back behind the counter, clocking in again to continue work for about an hour and a half.

As I was busy refilling the coffee beans about an hour and 20 minutes later, nearing the end of my shift, the band made their way to the counter. I sighed and went to the register to take their orders.

"What would you like this fine Thursday afternoon?" I said as I looked up with a cheeky smile and they all smiled back.

I started tapping away at the tablet, taking their orders and I failed to realize that Chanyeol seemed to recognize Jay. Jay on the other hand seemed endeared by my little brother and reached out a hand.

Bad idea as Chanyeol bit one of his fingers, not super hard but hard enough to draw a yelp from the older male. I looked at Jay. His eyes wide with surprise. I stifled my laughter.

"Stop being mean to my noona!" He reprimanded Jay and the other guys and me bursted out laughing at Jays even more shocked expression. Chanyeol then hugged me tightly and I just patted his back, still laughing. I put him down beside me and told him to cuddle with Lucy.

"So, what do you want Jay?" I said as he just stared at me in disbelief. I handed him a wet wipe for his hands and he just accepted his fate and chuckled.

"I'll have a vanilla latte and a croffle" he smiled and I just shook my head and did my very best to conceal my blush.
"Also, I'm not that terrible. Don't cry to your little brother about a it" he teased and I rolled my eyes with a smirk.

"He serves as great protection from idiots like yourself Jjongsaeng~" I mused and he just shook his head as I received the payment and started helping the other workers with the orders. Jake, however stood by the counter looking like he really wanted to ask me something. "Tell me Simmie, don't just stand there like a lost puppy" I said and he smiled and just as I expected:

"Is Bora coming in later or should go pick her up from practice to really give off true boyfriend vibes?" He eagerly bounced on his feet and I just smiled at his puppy like behavior.

"I think you should pick her up from practice and then take her out to boba or something simple that you both would enjoy" I answered truthfully and he just nodded enthusiastically. As I was finished with their orders my shift ended and I clocked out. I ushered my two companions to the back so that we could leave. It was 1:45 pm so I decided to take a small detour to buy groceries. I did have a lot of time before practice starts. Maybe I could even get there early to warm up thoroughly.
