"Ow, ow stop, please. Just let me do it." Thorn winced as Aster applied disinfectant to her stab wound. He stared right into her eyes. "You know you can't, you've just hurt your hand. I need to do it." Thorn hated to admit it, but she like when Aster took care of her. He was so sweet and gentle. He always was, but extra sweet and gentle. She loved him so much. As Aster leaned forwards to bandage her hand, she kissed him lightly on his forehead. She saw him smile as he finished tying the knot on the bandage. "There, that's the best I could do. Now please fix my dislocated shoulder."

Thorn sighed happily, watching Aster eat some berries he found on a bush. They weren't poisonous -they checked- and Thorn wasn't hungry, so Aster got to eat some and save some for later. They were both sitting down against a large tree stump, with Thorn's knees to her chest, while Aster's were stretched out to soak up all the warmth before sunset. The sun was low in the sky, but it wasn't sunset yet, and the warm yellow sunlight filtered in through the trees. It was such a perfect time of day, Thorn's favourite time, actually. Thorn slowly flopped over to rest her head on Aster's lap. He looked down and smiled, his dimples like small crevasses in a perfect landscape. Thorn loved it, nearly as much as she loved him. As Aster finished eating the berries, Thorn drifted off into a deep, comfortable sleep.

I really need to stop falling asleep, was Thorn's first though when she woke up. Noticing Aster was napping as well, her second thought was: maybe sleeping isn't so bad, I'll catch a few more Z's before we have to keep moving. Careful not to wake her sleeping lover, Thorn inserted herself into Aster's hoodie (which he was wearing), and wrapped her arms around his chest. She was sleeping on his bare torso, his shirt was being dried of all the blood from Thorn's hand. Even though he had abs, he didn't have a rock-hard torso, like all those romance books say. He was more soft and comfortable, which fit his personality. It was way too hot in the jumper, and Thorn was bored, so she took off the hoodie and counted all of Aster's scars he had gotten since he met her. Turns out, it was a LOT.
