Goh, Cerise and Chloe are outside doing Mr mime's training exercise 

Goh: Like this? 

Mr mime shakes his head and points at metapod

Goh: Like that?

Chloe: Really....

Cerise: Yes exactly 

Pokemon are running about as scorbunny kicks metapod who lands on Silvers head making it crack 

Goh: Wait if I'm not mistake inside is-

All three: Oh No!

Cerise: This is awful are you alright 

Chloe: Dad... Your talking to a rock 

Goh: Metapod are you okay?

Metapod opens one eye and show that it okay making Goh sigh with relief as he looks up to see Silver chasing scorbunny around clearly angry. Suddenly Goh's bags fly to him and hits him

Ash: Goh!!!

Goh turns to see Ash running and dragging Y/n who's rubbing his eyes tiredly 

Ash: Hoenn region here we come! 

-Timeskip: After arriving in Hoenn-

Announcer: Announcing the battle for tier flute cup, featuring the greatest trainers and their pokemon. Each trainer will use two Pokemon per battle as they rise through the ranks

Goh: I get it now, wait so have you chosen you partner's yet!

Ash: Yeah Pikachu and

Ash sends out a pokemon revealing Mr mime

Ash: Mimey! 

Goh: Mr mime? wait you chose Mr mime! Can it even battle 

Mimey pulls a sinister grin looking at Goh

Goh: What's up with the sinister grin?

Ash laughs as Y/n pets Mimey's head

Y/n: He's probably really good but never has to battle

Mimey smiles as Y/n turns to Goh

Y/n: So who are your two pokemon 

Goh: Scorbunny and Scyther

Goh thinks back to asking pinser who turned him down 

Ash: Scorbunny and Scyther this will be alot of fun!

Goh: So Y/n im guessing your two will be Blade and Ve

Y/n shakes his head

Y/n: Ve and Blade are sitting this one out I asked Professor Oak to transfer two pokemon to me before we left

Goh: Really! What are they

Y/n: That's a surprise!

Goh/Ash: Whaaaaaaa!

Y/n laughs as the two other boys pout till ash cheers up again 

Ash: I can't wait

Goh: I guess you're into pokemon battles aren't you

Ash: I cant explain it but it's like with my pokemon by my side, there's nothing i cant do! How about you two

Y/n: I agree though I'm not all into battling like you
