They had a nice lunch and then rode back to Avonlea. Then on their way to the King home, Gus "happened" to walk along their path, "Felix just the man I was lookin' for. I need your wagon to load some supplies for the foundlin' home." Felix smiled, "Take it, Iz and I can walk home." They got off and Gus took over, "Much appreciated you two", he saluted and then rode down the path. Felix extended his arm to Izzy, "Shall we continue?" Izzy laughed, "Sure", she took his arm and they made their way down the lane. When they got near Lilac Glenn, Felix stopped, "How about we take the long way?" Izzy's eyes lit up, "If that means we can walk through my favorite path, sure." They made their way through the path, toward the bridge. There was of course no flowers on the trees, but the snow was pretty. "This is my favorite place to walk, any season it's pretty", said Izzy. Felix smiled, "It is that."
They neared the bridge and Felix got ready. When they were at the middle of the bridge he stopped and turned Izzy toward him, "Iz do you like it here in Avonlea? Enough to live here the rest of your life?" Izzy narrowed her eyes suspiciously, "Yes, of course, why?" Felix took a deep breath, "Because...", he got down on one knee and opened a small box, revealing a diamond ring. "Isolde Jessica Pettibone I have come to love you more than anyone in this world. Would you do the honor of marrying me?" Izzy felt tears come and she smiled, "Yes Felix King, I accept." Felix stood up and pulled the ring out, "Well then I believe this belongs to you", he slipped the ring on her finger and kissed her tenderly. Suddenly shouts of joy rang through the woods and the whole King and Pettibone family stepped out clapping. Izzy turned amazed, "You planned all this?" Felix smiled, "Yep, well I didn't know they were all going to be here, but Gus taking the wagon was in my plan." Janet hugged both of them, "Cecily, Gus and your father dragged us all out here saying they needed us to see something." Muriel also stepped up, "Clive did the same thing and Izzy there's another surprise for you, come on out." Izzy shouted, "Aunt Lillian!" Aunt Lillian laughed and hugged the young woman, "It's so good to se you my dear and congratulations on your engagement." After congratulations and hugs were shared they all trampled back to the King house where hot tea and coffee awaited them.
By the end of the week everyone knew about the engagement. Booth came to dinner one evening and he and Sarah picked up right up where they left off. Booth even promised to come calling sometime. As for Felix and Izzy they were very happy. Felix had to leave at the end of January, 3 weeks and they spent a lot of time together. They decided to wait until after the war to marry and after Izzy made Felix promise not to be killed. The day finally came for Felix to leave. The Pettibones decided to come back to Avonlea and they had all their stuff moved back in their old house. Alec, Cecily and Izzy accompanied Felix to the train station. Before they knew it, it was time for Felix to go.
"Bye son, stay safe", Alec hugged his son and stepped back. Cecily hugged her older brother, "Come back for all of us, but especially for her", she said quietly. "And stay out of mischief", she added louder. Felix laughed, "I promise Cess." Alec and Cecily nodded and headed toward the wagon, leaving Izzy and Felix a few moments alone. Izzy opened her mouth, but no words came out and instead tears came running down. Felix put his arms around her and she buried her face into his cloak. He in turn buried his face in her hair, "I'll miss you", she murmured. "I will as well, I'll try to write when I can." Izzy looked up, "Promise?" Felix smiled, "Promise." Izzy let go and Felix wiped away the tears with the pad of his thumb, "I'll come home Iz, I promise." Izzy smiled sadly, "Soon, come home soon." Felix chuckled softly, "Yes, exactly what I'll do." The whistle sounded and Felix slung his bag on, "I'll miss you terribly Iz, but I'll be back soon." Izzy hugged him and then watched him get on the train and pull away. She shook herself and made her way to where Cecily and Alec were standing. Cecily put a comforting arm around her best friend, "He'll come home, no doubt about it."
1918, 3 and a half years later. WWI ended November 11th, 1918. Izzy had not seen Felix since he had left at the end of January of 1915. It had been 3 and a half long years without him. They had written and been able to talk in the letters, but that was it. Now it was December 1st, 1918 and Felix was on his way home. He would be home any day now.
Izzy brushed her long hair out and looked at herself in the mirror. She was 21 now and Felix was 22. Many guys had tried asking her out, but she had flatly refused them. Most times though her father didn't even let them in, he had grown fond of Felix and only wanted him to marry his daughter. There was a knock at the door and Cecily burst in waving a telegram, "Iz, it's Felix! He telegraphed from Halifax! He'll be on the 1:00 o'clock train!" Izzy jumped up and hugged Cecily, "Cess I can't believe it! It's been so long, do you think he'll recognize me?" Cecily laughed, "Of course he'll recognize you silly!" Izzy chuckled nervously, "Yeah I guess." Cecily grabbed her arm, "Go get your coat and we can go tell everyone else!" "Cecily King you mean you haven't told anyone in your family yet!?" Cecily rolled her eyes, "I needed to tell his fiancée first, duh. Plus you're family." Izzy laughed, "Alright let's go." The girls, or now I should say young women grabbed their coats and scarfs and raced off to tell the good news.

Fiksi PenggemarThis is a continuation where season 7 left off. I would recommend watching the show, it's a very good family friendly show. This mainly focuses on Felix and Izzy. Disclaimer: I do not own Road to Avonlea or any of its stories.
