•One~Cover it Up•

Y/n's POV

     "Lookin good, hot stuff," I talk to myself and strike a few poses in the tall mirror. I ruffle my hair before unleashing a sigh. Time to cover it up. I reach out to my pillow and grab my mask. An Oni mask. I got it a while ago from a nice lady at the market. She had tons of wild and extravagant masks but I got a minimalist one. It still looks badass though.
     She gave me a whole backstory to these masks. They are for decoration, accessories, and power. The one I got enhances power. (Not that I need it or anything.) But I also bought it for the looks. The not looks... To cover my face and look rockin' at the same time.
     I don't believe there is anything wrong with my looks... Compared to everyone else on the Boiling Isles at least. So that's not why I cover my face. Small horns pop out of my forehead but one has a chip in it, so what. A tenny tinny scar on the side of my face, big deal.
I cover up, mainly, so I'm anonymous. I've opened up to one person before... let's just say it didn't go well. But pfft, things never go well. You just never know who to trust even if you think you do.
Anyways, it's time to head out into the world. As I walk out of my small cabin I notice a beast getting chased down by a few witches. I know what they're doing, they're bounty hunting. It's really popular right now. "Maybe I need to do some bounty hunting..." I run off towards the market in search of a raging beast.

     "This, this is the most deadly and dangerous creature you have for me?" I shove a wanted poster with a cute little goblin on the front in the worker's face.
     "Mhmm," he sighs.
     "Then I'll find my own beast. I'll travel overseas and mountains to slay the monster."
     "Heh, "slay"," he mumbles and I groan. I stumble over to the massive Belos statue in the middle of all the shops.
     "Hey, kid!" I hear a shout from beside me. "Nice mask!"
     Hello, everyone! I hope you loved our intro which is mainly about getting to know Y/n. If you aren't from earlier FanFictions then let me tell you that this project is based on feedback and learning from people like you. A bit about the chapter: I don't know much about Oni masks but what I do know was altered a bit. Also, this will be uploaded earlier than I said before and I apologize for that.
