Chapter Two

Kira- my writing style changed since I haven't written anything in awhile for this book. I mean it's been in my drafts for what like- 3 months or more? Idk, but onto the story!

Ever since Tanjiro returned from his mission he felt eyes watching his every move. Of course this makes him cautious with what he says and does.

Tanjiro was now walking around the city at night when he smelt a familiar and soothing scent, curiously he followed the scent into an alleyway.

'Where is this scent coming from?...' He thought, going deeper into the alley. After a bit he noticed the scent led behind the building.

Tanjiro then realized the scent was disappearing meaning the person or this was moving. He then picks up his pace running after the scent until he noticed it was getting stronger until he sees someone standing farther from him, facing his way.

He stopped running, and just walked towards the person, revealing it to be the man he bumped into a couple of days ago after his mission.

"Oh, sir, what a surprise!" Tanjiro greeted, happily waving hello. The man only stared at him, his turquoise and yellow eyes looking at his every move.

Tanjiro tilted his head with a gentle smile.

"It's nice to meet you again, my name is Tanjiro Kamado!" He introduced. That was when the man finally spoke.

"Hello, my name is Obanai" he replied, shortly.

(Plz Obanai auto corrected to obama😭)

Obanai then gently grabbed Tanjiro's hand.

"Sorry if this is weird, but I would like you to stay with me, until the night is over" Obanai spoke. Tanjiro flinches back a bit shocked, before calming down and smiling, gently.

"That's very kind of you sir" he replied happily. Obanai smiled under his wrap.

"Then follow me," he spoke. Tanjiro nodded following Obanai.

As they entered the home Obanai took Tanjiro to a room with his own bed.

"This is where you can rest for now," he spoke. Tanjiro bowed, thankfully.

"Thank you Obanai-san,'' Tanjiro thanked. Obanai nodded before leaving the room. Tanjiro stood in the middle of the room alone, or maybe not.

Tanjiro then slid the box on his back onto the floor, opening the door to the box.

"Goodnight Nezuko" Tanjiro greeted his younger sister. Nezuko crawled out and onto Tanjiro's lap, giving him a 'Hm' in response.

Nezuko's eyes then sharpen as a knock on the door was heard. Tanjiro thought that was odd, nezuko had never done that until now. Nezuko runs up to the door, opening it and attacking the person on the other side.

"Nezuko!" Tanjiro yelled out. Next thing you know is Obanai was injured. Tanjiro jumped up, grabbing Nezuko and moving her away.

"Obanai-kun!" Tanjiro quickly bursts into action, picking Obanai up and running out the house.

"Where is the nearest doctor?" Tanjiro asked in a hurry. Obanai blushed a dark red, but quickly calmed.

"Tanjiro it's okay!" Obanai assured, but Tanjiro was not a bit convinced, keeping his eyes where he was going. That was until he sniffed the air to track where a doctor would be, but the scent of blood was no more.

Tanjiro stopped running and looked back at Obanai to see his wound wasn't there anymore.

He placed Obanai on the ground and stood, staring at him in disbelief, before he smelt the air once more and focused on his scent.

'Demon' Tanjiro thought. He jumps back, unsheathing his sword and getting into a fighting stance. This broke Obanai's heart, he didn't like the fact he was going to kill him.

"You were going to eat me…weren't you?..." Tanjiro asked. Obanai quickly shook his head.

"No, no, no, I wouldn't ever do that!" Obanai protested, waving his hands about. Obanai then slowly started walking towards Tanjiro.

"S-stay there!" Tanjiro stuttered, backing up and gripping his sword tighter.

Obanai wasn't far from Tanjiro when he started moving closer, but then, once he was close enough he grabbed the Katana, throwing it to the side.

Tanjiro snapped out of his trance and resorted to close combat. He used his foot, kicking obanai on his hip.

Obanai grabbed his foot pulling Tanjiro into his arms, keeping him from fighting.

But Tanjiro had other plans then to be "eaten", so he used his foot, kicking Obanai's foot, causing his to fall to the ground, allowing a Tanjiro to escape.

He wiggled out of Obanai's grip grabbing his sword and charging at Obanai.

"Water breathing, first form: Water Surface Slash" Tanjiro said before charging at Obanai. Obanai sighs not wanting to do what he had to do.

Iguro then turned back into his Demon form, his eyes opened, staring at Tanjiro. Tanjiro stopped immediately noticing the Kanji written in his eyes.

Upper two. Tanjiro froze in place, trembling at the immense strength of Obanai's presence. Obanai takes his chance walking up to Tanjiro and cressing his cheek.

"I would never eat you, now calm down" Obanai said moving Tanjiro to sit on the ground as Obanai shifted back into his human form. Tanjiro stared at Obanai in disbelief, before he decided to speak.

"A-are you like Nezuko?" Tanjiro asked. Obanai shook his head.

"That demon girl, no. I've eaten humans, multiple, to reach my rank" Obanai said truthful, playing with Tanjiro's strands of hair.

"But…why haven't you killed me?" Tanjiro asked once more. Obanai looked into Tanjiro's eyes.

They stared at each other lost in their own worlds until Obanai picked Tanjiro up.

"Let's get going, it's late" Obanai said, before picking his sword up as well. Tanjiro silently complied, allowing Obanai to bring him back.

'He doesn't have any bad intentions based on his scent…..maybe he is like Nezuko..' Tanjiro thought while looking at Obanai.

After Obanai returned with Tanjiro in his arms, Nezuko only watched the two.

"Mhmh" Nezuko muffled. Obanai looked at Nezuko, allowing Tanjiro to stand on his own. Tanjiro got out of Obanai's arms and walked next to Nezuko.

"Nezuko, it's alright" Tanjiro assured, with a smile. Obanai blushed under his mask, before looking away.

"Tanjiro…..do you mind if I speak with you alone?" Obanai asked looking back at the two. Tanjiro focused back on Obanai before nodding.

"Nezuko, go back to that room and wait for me, please" Tanjiro said. Nezuko hesitantly nodded, before walking towards the room she was instructed to go to.

"Follow me" Obanai said, turning around and walking off as Tanjiro followed not too far behind.
