Regina looked into Robin's face, placed her soft hand on his cheek. He was gone. She was going to have to raise their child alone.

The first thing she did was call Mary-Margaret, who had become one of her closest friends.

"Hello?" Snow answered.

"Hey, Snow," Regina sniffed.

"Regina? What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"I- Snow, I need you to come over. Now, if you can."

"I'll be there in five," Snow said.

Regina hung up the phone. Then, she called Henry.

"Hey, Mom, what's up?" he said.

"Henry, I need you and Roland to come home now, okay?"

"Okay. Mom, what's wrong?"

"We'll talk about it when you get home," Regina said, pressing end call.

Snow, Henry, and Roland all arrived at the same time. They shared a glance of concern before entering the house. Regina walked into the front hall, tears still on her cheeks. Snow immediately rushed forward and wrapped her in a hug.

"What happened?" She asked. Fresh tears gathered in Regina's eyes. She wiped them away.

"Emma stopped by...," Regina trailed off.

Everyone stayed silent.

"She... Said something about taking away the thing I love the most, how I'm a villain and I don't deserve my happy ending. And then she...," Regina said, sniffling.

"She what, Mom?" Henry asked.

"She killed him," Regina whispered.

"Robin?" Snow asked with a gasp. Regina nodded, tears spilling down her face. Mary-Margaret wrapped her in another hug. Henry came up and joined. Roland stood off to the side. He had never seen his mommy cry before, and he didn't know what was wrong.

Regina pulled out of the hug and squatted down to Roland's level.

"Come here, buddy," she said.

"What's wrong, Mommy?" He asked, walking forward.

"Something bad happened, Sweetheart," Regina said, trying to get her tears under control so she could talk to her son.

"What?"

"Someone came and hurt Daddy. He can't be with us anymore, okay?"

"What do you mean?"

"Sweetheart, Daddy died," Regina said as softly as she could.

Tears formed in Roland's eyes, spilling over his little cheeks. She brought him into a hug and lifted him onto her hip, stand up. She rubbed his back.

"I know, buddy. I know. I'm gonna take you in there now, okay?"

She walked into the living room, followed by Mary-Margaret and Henry. She set Roland down and he ran to his father's body, hugging it tightly and sobbing into his chest. Henry got down beside him, tears filling his eyes, too, and tried to comfort his little brother. Mary-Margaret, however, stayed with Regina. She placed a hand on her back. Regina turned her head to look at her friend, tears welling up in her eyes once again.

"Regina... When we were in the Enchanted Forest during the missing year, you remember I had to reenact your dark curse, right? And I had to sacrifice the thing I loved the most- David. Do you remember how, after I crushed his heart, you took my and ripped it in half, giving half to me and half to David? And he lived?"

"Yeah... What are you suggesting, Snow?"

"I'm suggesting that you rip your heart in half and give half to Robin. Save his life like you did David's," Snow said.

Regina mulled it over, then nodded.

"Boys," she said. They looked up at her. "Can you go upstairs for a minute?"

Henry nodded. He picked up his little brother and they walked upstairs. Regina glanced at Snow, who nodded in encouragement.

Regina got down by Robin. She thrust her hand into her chest, grunting at the impact. She retraced her hand, taking her heart along with it. She held it in both hands, and twisted each hand in a different direction. She cried out in pain, trying to keep quiet so she wouldn't scare the boys. She placed half of her heart back into her own chest, and pressed the other half into Robin's.

Nothing happened.

Then-

Something-

The flutter of his eyelids-

She felt his heart beating under her hand-

Saw his chest begin rising and falling again-

He opened his eyes. He was alive.

"Oh, Robin!" She cried. She launched herself into his arms, hugging him tightly, tears of joy escaping her eyes.

"Hi," he said, looking at Snow in confusion. The other woman just shrugged.

"Robin! You-you were dead, Emma killed you! I thought-I thought I'd lost you forever," She said.

"How am I alive, then?" He asked.

Regina hesitated.

"Regina...," Robin said.

"I- I ripped my heart in half. You are literally using mine for the both of us," she said quietly.

Robin sighed and shook his head. Then he smiled, making Regina grin right along with him. Robin kissed her softly. They broke apart and he leaned his forehead against hers.

"Boys," Regina called up the stairs. "I have a surprise for you!"

They came down the stairs slowly, heads hung in sorrow.

"Look who's back," Regina said.

They looked up and their eyes lit up with joy. They rushed to their parents, hugging them, Roland shouting, "Daddy!"

Regina laid her head on Robin's shoulder as the boys smothered their newly resurrected father with hugs. She looked to Snow, who had a smile on her face.

"Thank you," she mouthed.

Snow just nodded and left the family to their reunion.
