Intro:
It all started young. Very young. Born to a mother who grew up in a country atmosphere, and a father who grew up in the burbs, Katie was destined for greatness. How much? That is still to be determined. But at the age of 18 months she was sitting on horseback. At three, she was riding on a lead. At four, she got her first two ponies. Shetlands named Jack and Susie. Jack drove in a little cart and harness and Susie was ridden. At four her parents bought a farm in Fair Hill Maryland. And shortly thereafter she got her first horse. An older Arabian she called Nick. Who faithfully carried her through the woods with her mom, and around Fair Hill. After Nick passed away, she got an older retired show pony named Caramel. A little chestnut welsh mare. Taking lessons at Fair Winds Farm, she joined the show team, and the hunt was on to find her a pony suitable for her to show. And the search was on, eventually ending back a mile and a half from the farm with a welsh cross... a dapper little gelding she called Willie.
Currently amongst the mix, is her foxhunter/jumper Koda, a Canadian bred thoroughbred Bay Prince, a miniature Mini Cooper, and a large Arabian pony Garrett.
But this is her story. And it's waiting to be told.
