Katie was part of the Tailwind Trotters led by Miss B. While in the club, Katie was active in the county fair, and helping with social projects... shopping for the family they adopted at Christmas, doing the Horse Play written by JoAnn Dawson at Fair Hill International, and even helping out at the live nativity held at the Dawson's farm every Christmas season.

The only thing Katie didn't like was a club member, who making her stay in the club uncomfortable. So Katie left and joined pony club, where she came in as D2 and left as a C1.

Katie is a rider with more raw talent in her little fingers than I've seen in many kids. At the county fair one year, she asked the judge what she could do to ride better and get higher in the ribbons. She was told it was not her riding. That the judge wished more kids rode like her, but rather it was her pony. He was not the hunter type they were looking for. That was enough for her. She's a brave rider, who will gladly ride whatever is asked of her.

She was a part of the Fairwinds show team led by Miss Anne and Drue. While Katie was successful with her pony Willie, it was not what she wanted. And after her first year of pony racing, she asked her father and I for permission to follow her heart. And we listened, And we let her. A very young jockey was about to burst from the coccoon. And we are here to watch, learn and enjoy the ride with her.
