Sadly her first year, we met with a problem right from the starting gate so to speak. Katie's beloved Willie had an accident in the field and broke his splint bone in five places. So we scrambled to find a replacement for her to ride. And found Minnie... Cinnamon Twist... a little welsh mare that we were allowed to race and show.
While not the best results, a few wonderful things happened... we discovered Katie had legs of glue... her first race,,, she popped a stirrup and raced the entire way with only one foot in the stirrup. She promptly lost her other stirrup near the finish line and finshed stirrupless with a huge grin on her face. We were so proud of her. She was a true sportslady, always congratulating the winners and making good friends along the way. We learned alot that year.

And then in the fall...he emerged...One Stinky Pony... and their legacy started. Willie was born to race. He was born to run. He needed a kindred spirit to help him get there... and he found it in Katie.
