They all stepped out onto the field. Miruzu's eyes widened as she turned around as they all walked towards the center. That's.... A lot of people.... She thought. She suddenly got nervous.

"You scared, shadow girl?" Bakugou who was beside her asked. His tone taunting and mocking. 

"Nope, just... adjusting..." She replied casually as she looked around.

Bakugou clicked his tongue in reply, annoyed that she wasn't fazed one bit.

She looked at the other courses entering. All of the first years were here. They all looked at Midnight and boy... I thought my costume was weird but here it is... she thought as she looked at Midnight, she was their referee.

"Student representative. 1-A, Bakugou Katsuki!" Midnight said.

Huh? He's the student representative?

Bakugou stepped forward, unfazed. He knew about it already, he had been briefed earlier about this. He stepped onto the podium and everyone was waiting for him to speak.

"I pledge... that I'll be number one," he said. His voice sounded like he didn't care but he speaks that with utmost sincerity. Miruzu wasn't surprised but still, she was amused. She laughed and she clapped for Bakugou even though her classmates were shocked.

Let's see about that, explosion boy.

The first event out of the three events was the obstacle race.

Miruzu tilted her head. That should be easy. She thought but she didn't know how far the track would be. And she didn't know what lied on the field for them. Oh, four kilometers. Miruzu can easily win the race with her shadow quirk, sure, it was unfair but it was her quirk.

Once the light turned green, all of them ran.

Miruzu immediately shadow travelled and since she was wearing her cuffs, she needed to resurface every 30 seconds since she didn't know what was ahead of her because maybe she will suddenly be in a bad spot when she resurfaces and because the cuffs minimizes her quirk's abilities. Present Mic immediately announced that she was leading the race when she resurfaced.

There was a robot in front of her, it was the first obstacle. She formed a sword on her hand and incapacitated the robot as she summoned her shadows to move out the robot that was blocking her way. She ran which gives her time to recover from her quirk. She remembered how her doctors had warned her. If she abuses her shadow traveling there is a high chance that it could do damage to her internal organs and to her cognitive abilities.

She smirked as she formed shadow portals behind her that led the other students behind her to be out of the course. Present Mic and the crowd were amused by her trick. She looked behind her and saw Bakugou and Shoto trailing behind her using their quirks to catch up to her.

"Fucking shadow girl!" Bakugou shouted with rage laced in his voice. She heard destruction behind her as the students fought with the robots to get past them. Bakugou sped up and he was near her already. She grinned as she saw his hand going to blast her off supposedly but she sank down to the ground and resurfaced immediately. She ran faster and she heard Bakugou's cursing behind her as she smiled in triumph but then stopped when she saw the 2nd obstacle.

Fucking hell. It wasn't a straight path so she couldn't just shadow travel on the other side. She let out a deep breath and summoned her shadows to form her wings. She focused on that image and she was pressured more when she had heard the running footsteps of the other students. She can hear the explosions behind her too.
