???? BCE, Shenzhou

Ren Cruz smirked smugly as he towered over the shorter height of the glasses-wearing young woman in front of him. With an annoyed scowl, Fu Hua glared at the young man as she leaned her back on her chair.

"I'm here to take my babies and head west." The young man said, looking like a man in his late teens to early 20s despite being millennia old.

"No," Fu Hua said blankly as she lowered her scroll, her lone eye not covered by her bangs narrowing at him.

"I am the patriarch of the Cruz family, granted I barely meddle with them,-"

"I am the guardian of Shenzhou, master of several generations of Cruz students. I have more influence with them than you,"

"Bullshit."

"Pardon my language, but I believe you should suck it up," Fu Hua said with a smirk as she saw him clench his hand. "After all, wasn't it I that received the most gifts for the last century?"

A tick mark erupted on Ren's forehead causing Fu Hua to grow even smugger.

"Wasn't it also I that is given the first chance to see or interact with the younger ones?"

"I'll skewer you, you fried chicken."

"Annoyance is often a sign of defeat," Fu Hua said smugly causing the two other members of project ember to sigh and shake their heads.

"Little Book! Help me out here!" Ren said, looking at the ELF who wisely ignored them. "Even you, Achi!" a male ELF said nothing as he turned on the pillow he was lying on, ignoring Ren.

"Even the ELFs agree." Fu Hua said with a grin. "And since I am sure I will be winning this year's contest again, I do need a... helper."

"More like a servant," Ren bitterly whispered under his breath causing Fu Hua to smirk and puff her chest out. Ren tried his best but he found himself ogling her beautiful- I mean pathetic body! "And I do need a new chair and footrest." That broke him and unable to take it anymore, the young man growled and stomped away.

"Well, another win for me," Fu Hua said with a proud smile, her shoulders less tense than before as she read the scroll once more, a soft and small yet sincere smile on her face.

Ren said nothing as he sat cross-legged on a rock by a lake over a mountain. His short dark hair danced in the wind along with his clothes that were colored Black with blue accents, a contrast to Fu Hua's attire for the century or something. Deep in meditation, the young man sorted through his thoughts-

"I never would have thought a pollutant would have made its way here," Hearing the voice of his... enemy, Ren ignored it. Ignore the fried chicken and she will.

"A lizard too."

...

"Bitch," Ren said under his breath before turning around to see Fu Hua under the shade of a tree reading her scroll, her shoes were off and he could see her soft yet toned creamy thighs. Man, what would he give to- stop that! Focus and train!

"I thought lizards were smart but these writings are as ugly as a sewage dump." Turning around, Ren saw the scroll in her hand. The scrolls containing the maps he drew. Sure, they were his works and they were not the best.

"Go away, fried Chicken!" Ren shouted as he stood up and focused just as he stepped over the water and walked away.

"Oh? 'Once upon a time-" Unable to finish reading, Fu Hua use her foot to keep Ren away as he desperately tried to reach the scroll in her hand. "'There was a prince called.'"

"No! Stop!" Ren begged.

Off to the side, Fuxi and Nuwa shook their heads at the sight of the immortal idiots.

Ren gathered his descendants and checked his maps. He had scouted the way and he knew they would succeed. His descendants were strong and hell, they were going to Rome and he will be with them. The young man smiled as he finished checking the supplies they need. For the first time, he will be leaving his home.

"Leaving already?" Fu Hua asked as she approached him.

"Yeah, Captain Kevin wanted to reforge the alliance and promise we gave each other," Ren said as he checked the scroll in his hands.

"I see," Fu Hua said as she looked at the scroll and at him.

"Dearest Ancestor, we are ready," A female Cruz descendant said only for Ren to feel confused when some of his descendants grabbed the girl away while several looked annoyed at her.

"Well, there's the cue," Ren said as he rolled the scroll. "Good luck with Ember, Fried Chicken," Ren said as he patted her head and walked away.

Hua just sighed as she turned back. She can't stop him now...

"Stay safe..." she whispered as she saw the whole family of the Cruz clan disappears into the horizon. "I'll miss you, you stupid idiot..." Fu Hua said as she looked at the sky. It was raining and she hoped that the Clan filled with her students will be fine. Ah, the sun was so bright in the sky and there were no clouds but it was raining.

"Sheesh, did you grow colder? Truly your heart is as cold as your flat chest," Fu Hua looked up from her book much to the shock of her current students. After all, this man just insulted their teacher and he managed to sneak up on them. "And here I thought you were a fried chicken, not a frozen one."

For the first time, her students saw something on her face.

"Says the lizard that got lost in Russia." Fu Hua spat as she glared at him, yet her lone eye not hidden by her bangs were filled with relief.

"That was one time..." Ren seethed. "Fucking bitch."

"Miserable Bastard," Fu Hua smirked as she stood up. She slowly approached him and punched his stomach weakly. "That was for forgetting to send a message. do you know how worried- I mean how you made my job more complicated?"

"Well, I was busy."

Fu Hua's eyes narrowed at him before she grabbed his ear and dragged him away.

"You will be my servant for the next few decades. Remember, I won most of that competition," Fu Hua reminded as Ren tried to crawl away from her but to no avail.

"I never would have thought I would see Master Phoenix like that!" A student of her said.

Ren grinned as he won for the 100th time in a row in the arcade against Fu Hua.

"Pay up, Fried Chicken!"

"Damn you, you stupid Frozen lizard..." Fu Hua gritted her teeth in annoyance as the duo played another round of teken. Despite this, the two enjoyed each other's presence.
