"its so pretty! thank you so much" the girl exclaimed,jumping around and holding her present close to her chest.
her ballerina flats cushioned her jumping, all he heard were soft stomps across the wood tiled floor
a bouquet of pink roses.
MARI likes roses.

used to like roses.
HERO was never into flowers, gardening, stuff like that. but MARI always used to help BASIL with planting his flowers. I guess he didnt have the patience necessary for gardening. MARI was always down to try anything as long as it meant making somebody else happy, or just keeping someone company while they were doing their business , with permission, of course. MARI was never the annoying type of girl. it was actually very nice having her around you..But i guess now isnt the right time to be thinking about MARI.
But looking at her, he saw the same sparkle in her eyes as MARI's, when he first got her flowers...

"oh jeez, HERO, you really didnt have to!" MARI giggled, leaning over to smooch her handsome boyfriend
HERO pushed back "MARI! do you want your dad seeing us?" HERO joked
"youre no fun. hmph." she crossed her arms and looked away
"im just kidding. come here." HERO hugs MARI and they both giggle

"HERO?"
"what.?"
"why are you always zoning out so much?"
"oh..um.. just thinking about how beautiful you are.!"
that was a lie.
a really shitty lie.

"ah. okay." she shared a bright smile.

"ah! alright then!" MARI said enthusiastically, although she had no idea what HERO was telling her ...
HERO had always had a passion for cooking, MARI couldnt even cook an omelette! She admired him for his cooking qualities, okay, not just that but its great to have a boyfriend who can cook!
HERO grabbed MARI's hand.
"Stop shaking the pan! youre gonna spil the yolk!" HERO exclaimed, rushing behind her ,holding her pale hand
MARI got the jist of it though. With HERO right behind her, of course!

"ahah.. its a little burnt but i hope you like it! ill never be as good a cook as you, HENRY.." MARI sweats nervously, setting the omelette made with HERO's help in front of him.
"jeez, MARI! how did you make this yourself?" HERO joked sarcastically

MARI laughed.

she laughed.
there was silence for a while.
"did it happen again?"
"what?."
"the glitching ?"

there was no answer
HERO just wanted all of this to be over. it's been so long.
"I get it might be hard, but you have to get over. you have me, your friends and family! i just want you to be okay." she reassured her now boyfriend, resting her hand around his shoulder

It wasnt that.
It was so much more than that
He wants to speak but his brain refuses to open his mouth. It would hurt the girl too much. knowing everything about HERO.
even though they are together, HERO still feels his presence is unneeded around her. She's nothing like his beloved MARI.
still, he musters the courage to agree. that all he can do in this situation. HERO was always known to be overly nice. but she doesnt know that. yet?

"I'm okay.cant wait for you to meet my family next week. thanks for your kindness."HERO looks over at her, sitting right next to him. Hand on his shoulder, other on her thigh. He cracked a smile.
She blushed sheepishly, rubbing on her thighs, slightly lifting her skirt up.
HERO knew what she wanted, but he was very unsure wether he wanted it as well. Everything was blurry to him, even his own girlfriend. Its like her face was just blanked out, hid mind instantly replaced her with MARI's darling gaze...
the awkward tension between him and her was quickly resolved by her jumping onto him, right over his crotch. she started kissing him. he didnt feel okay doing this, yet he kissed her as well, wrapping his slender hands around her waist.
an unnerving sense of guilt washed over him as he kissed her, blank, pale face. she was pretty, yes, it's just that he hadn't really moved on.

something flickered inside of his mind
and then there was silence
the guilt was gone
for now.
