Today has been eventful but educating, not only educating on what I can do to be a better caretaker for the adopted neko and dog men that now live in my home, but how to, in a way, govern my home, though govern may not be the right word. Regardless, I thought it be wise to write a journal to account for what has been occurring but also as a mean of reflection for me, to know what I can do better as caretaker. With that said, today is a bit chipper today, after FInnick apologized for locking Apollo in the closet and cheering up Apollo, things headed in the right direction. Today I started looking for possible new jobs as for one the work I currently did was becoming less and less. Though I hate to admit it, I most likely will be let off soon of the project I was on for the app I helped develop. So to prepare for the worst, I began looking at possible avenues of work, and after several hours of searching didn't find any potential job offerings that one, paid almost an equal amount to what I was being paid, and two, what I would be doing. The only job listings I had was for internships, which I didn't qualify, or positions that was janitor duty for programming, code clean up essentially. Both paid half as much as my current pay and wouldn't exactly help with my situation. Despite that Arvin made everyone Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, finding he was an exceptional cook, everyone having a smile on their face as we ate and chatted. Apollo certainly is in much better spirits since yesterday despite being locked in a closet. It was very nice to see them happy and also to see Arvin being happy with making the food. At the end of the night everyone turned in for bed, with me finishing a few things up, cleaning up my room a bit, saw a few boxes that needed to go to storage. Wanting to make sure I didn't forget, as that can sometimes happen with me, I picked up the boxes and headed to the store room, being at the end of the hall where we all resided.
Entering that storeroom filled me with a it of nostalgia, being reminded of how my dad would show me all his things, sharing his love for collecting with me. Though I never collected the things he collected, which was mainly old guns, and ancestral items. Now it was more empty with my fathers things now gone. It was a large storeroom, big enough to set two large tables with room to spare. There were a two tables where I had my things, which when I sat the boxes down I was curious what I had put in here. Going through the boxes I saw my collection, being that of miniatures of the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of SIgmar mini's. For 40K I had a full Death Guard army, which I played quite often years back, and for Age of Sigmar a Skaven army though I never played that version, I just thought they were really cool and collected them.
Looking at them brought back memories, sadly the group I played with moved state to work elsewhere and I never could find a group since. I could go back to building and painting in my spare time. For now I have to finish cleaning up then head off to bed, and hope to write in here soon.
April 1st
Been a bit since I wrote here but I have been busy. I started building and painting my miniatures in my off time, and found it quite therapeutic you could say. Finnick and Apollo have been playing games around the house and Arvin has took interest in the library hear, spending much of his time reading. He still cooks and the paychecks from the program have been helpful in grocery shopping. Though sadly I got the bad news today that I have been let go from my job. I was expecting it to be later as they were transferring to a new program but it seems things were moving quicker behind the scenes than expected. Now I was let go because the team working on the new app was full and there was no need for me to continue working there. They were very kind and gave me a bonus with my last paycheck as a thank you for working with them, which was very generous of them.
