"She used to be such a sweet girl, who wore a smile that could charm any soul with its warmth and brightness. Then, through unneeded hate and merciless chance, she became something none of us ever hoped to see exist. It was an indescribable evil that few had the strength to match." Bart Oobleck on The Events That Lead To The Devil's Rise.

-----------------------------------------------

Ever since that Devil had broken into her dorm and whispered that word into Yang's ear, Yang Xiao Long had searched relentlessly on the meaning behind the word she had been told tied in with her sister.

"Lucifer!" Was the single word she had been told by that mass murderer, and it had taken a lot of digging into history to find what she was looking for.

Lucifer was the name of the father of Sin and Lies in one of the oldest religions in the world of Remnant, one that had died out centuries ago when religion had been banned by one of the old king's of Vale.

Lucifer.....was not a nice character, to say the least. He tricked the first women created by the religions God into disobeying him and eating the fruit of knowledge. Even before that, he had tried to replace the supreme God and was cast into hell.

Overall, the story was not a good one. So why did that name tie in with her baby sister? Ruby had been one of the sweetest and kindest person's Yang had ever known! What could Lucifer have anything to do with her baby sister.

It made no sense! Either that Devil had been lying.....or there was something Yang hasn't figured out yet. Whatever it is, it was driving her nuts trying to figure it out.

She had hardly slept at all, rather spending her time trying to figure out the only lead she had on where her baby sister was.  Bag's had developed under her eyes, and her hair is a tangled mess. This was eating away at her mind more than the search for her mother had ever been able to.

Turning on the TV after collapsing onto the couch in her teams dorm, Yang flipped through the channels until it landed on the news. That's when her eyes widened upon seeing the collection of images the news was putting on the screen.

Bodies. Bodies of horrible mutilation and apparent brutalization lay in black body bags. The images made Yang sick to her stomach with how many were still laying in the streets around the news reporter.

"Today has been one of the worst days Vale has seen in its long history. As of now, three hundred and twelve bodies have been identified after an event known as The Devil's Banquet." The new's reporter was quivering after seeing the carnage of the scene around her, and Yang was much the same way on the couch.

'That many people killed in such a short time?!" Yang thought in horror while wanting to retch and vomit from the idea that somebody or some people was powerful enough to do such an atrocious act.
