Conrad's Pov

It's been a month since I last saw her. Since I begged her for her forgiveness. But I got nothing. All I wanted was to fight for her. To be with her again. But Laurel told me to just give her time. At first I didn't want to, I was scared somebody else would steal her. I can't ever forgive myself if that ever happens. But then I realized Laurel was right. She did just have a failed wedding. It must be hard especially that she almost married my own brother. I just need to give her time and space.

I've been in the library studying when I got the phone call from Laurel. Telling me she was in town. So I'd have dinner with her. I went back to my dorm and get ready. Then I grabbed my keys and drove to the restaurant following the maps. When I arrived Laurel was there wearing a maroon dress. Laurel saw me from far and she gave me the widest smile. Seeing Laurel always warms my heart. She was just like my second mom.

"Connie!" She squealed with her arms open wide. I wrapped my arms around her and gave her a tight embrace. She smelled like jasmine and tea. Just like Laurel.
"Wow, Laurel. You look great." I said looking at her. Because she did. She had a maroon lipstick, and her dress looked great. She dressed up, and had make up on. It was rare to see her like this especially after mom died.
"Thank you. But what's that look on your face? You're teasing me." She said.
"Oh I'm not. I'm just surprised to see you look all neat and dressed up. There must be a reason" I giggled.
"Well, what if the reason was that I wanted to look good because I'm having dinner with you?" She asked.
"Sure!" I said smiling.

We ate our dinner and talked about everything.
"How's your brother?" She asked after talking about herself.
"Not sure." I said.
"You haven't heard from him? At all?" She asked.
"Since he said he hated me, and never wanted to see me again for the rest of his life? Well nope. Never heard of him." I said.
"Connie, I'm truly sorry. But I hope you can fix your relationship with him. With your mother gone, you both should really hold tight to your relationship." She said.
"I know I tried to text him. A billion times. He never answered. I think he blocked my number." I said.
"Is there any way I could help?" She asked. Laurel could help. She can always help, but i think this time, I just have to take care of this.

"I wish I never let him be with her. That was the stupidest thing I've ever done." I said.
"Connie, but that was such a selfless thing to do." She said.
"No. I did that cuz I thought I was never good for her. And look at the mess it turned to. They were in a relationship, engaged, canceled a wedding, because of me. And now, both of them hates me." I said.
"They don't hate you. At least not Belly, she could never hate you for a long time." She said. I shivered hearing her name. I miss her.
"How is she?" I asked.
"Oh she's great. She's having the time of her life in Spain." She said smiling widely. Spain? What is she doing in Spain?

"Spain?" I asked confused.
"Oh you don't know Belly's in Spain?" I shook my head confused. "She posts on instagram a lot"
"She blocked me on Instagram" I said.
"Oh" Laurel said taking her phone. "I'll show you." She said opening photos on her phone showing me pictures of Belly. Eating Ice cream, in front of a historical building, in the market, in the riverside. Her smiles made her eyes light up. She was happy.
"She looked so happy." I said smiling.
"She is. It's always been her dream." Laurel said.
"She's there for a holiday?" I asked.
"No. She's a student exchange. She'll be there for a year." She said.
"A year? That's long." I said thinking how I couldn't see her.

"Pretty long." Laurel agreed and smiled at a photo of her. She put her phone back in her back.
"Laurel? Can I get her address please?" I asked.
"Why? Are you gonna go there? Your busy with your studies." She said.
"No, I'm not. But I'm gonna try to talk to her. She blocked me everywhere, remember?" I said.
"Oh, yeah. Sure, I'll send you her address." She said. "Oh, my friend's already here to pick me up."
"Oh her meeting's done?" I asked.
"Yup" Laurel said asking for the check. I offered to pay but she rejects my offer harshly. We cleaned up and went outside.
