Belly's POV

"Isabelle are you okay? What takes you so long?" Miguel called out from far. They just realized I was still standing here. I looked at him and how apart from everything that's going on between us, he'd been happy to see me.
"Wait up!" I yelled running towards them, away from him.
"Belly, wait!" He yelled, running to me.
"Isabelle, who is that?" Lola asked confused.
"Belly, can you just talk to me? Please." He yelled grabbing my hand. His hand was still soft, his grip was tight.
"Hey, back off you American boy, do not touch her." Miguel growled.
"Who is he? Is he making you uncomfortable?" Lola asked alert.

"Of course he is." Miguel said glaring at him.
"I'm sorry, can I just have a moment to talk to her?" He pleaded.
"No." I said for the first time.
"You hear that? She said no. Let's go Isabelle." Lola said pulling my hand from him. I felt this ache in my chest how I wanted to be with him so bad, but I know it was the wrong thing to do. I was glad Lola was pulling me away from him.
"Belly, please? I came all the way here, just for you!" He yelled making me freeze. He did came all the way here. The least I could do was talk to him.
"Just a minute, okay?" I said to them and they let me go.

"What are you doing here, Conrad?" I asked.
"I ran to you, like you wanted me to." He said.
"I wanted you to do that, but now, I want you to run away from me." I said.
"I'm never doing that, ever again. I lost you back then, and I'm never losing you again." He said.
"Conrad, we're never gonna workout." I said raising my voice.
"We can, Belly. I'll work on my ego, my jealousy, my insecurity. We will work out if we try. Can you please just give me a chance? I was just starting to have you back, please, can we just forget that stupid argument and just continue everything?" He asked intertwining his hand with mine.
"We're not continuing anything." I said.
"Then start over. Please just give me a chance?" He said caressing my hand with his thumb. His fingers smooth and cold against my skin. It feels familiar. It felt like winter.

"I will give us a chance, to start over. But as friends."
"Belly, you know I want you way more than that?"
"I'm not taking my chances with you as that. We're gonna break each other. We always do. But I am taking my chance to be friends with you again, for Suzannah." I said.
"My mom would want us to be way more than that." He chuckled.
"Suzannah, would want us to be happy no matter what." I said.
"My happiness is to be with you, Belly." He yelled.
"You are with me, Conrad. But we'll be just friends." I said.
"Belly, we both know we can't be just friends. We've tried that, and we failed." He said.

"Conrad, it's that or nothing." I said softly.
"I love you too much that I'd rather be anything else but nothing with you." He said.
"Thank you." I said smiling.
"Fyi, to you we're "just friends", but for me we're always more than that." He said.
"It's fine. Because we'll stay friends." I said.
"We won't." He chuckled.
"We'll stay friends. I feel strongly about it." I said.
"I'll try my hardest to get out of this friendzone with you." He said smirking.
"You can try, but you'll fail." I said.
"I love you." He said smiling down at me.
"You can't say that, Conrad."
"Yes I can, I'm not confessing or anything, I'm just saying it like a for your information thing. Like I'm telling you that i like your new haircut, or I miss you and you look beautiful." He said smirking.

"Conrad, telling me those things are just sweet nothing to me." I said.
"We'll see." He said touching my hair gently like what he always does giving me butterflies in my stomach.
"Can I take you out for lunch?" He asked.
"As friends." I said.
"As friends" He agreed.
"Let me just tell my friends." I said to him. I walked up to Lola and Miguel who was sitting on a chair 10 meters from us.
"Isabelle, Who was that?" Miguel asked.
"Just a friend from home." I said. "And guys, I'm gonna have lunch with him, so I don't think I can have lunch with you guys, would that be okay?" I said.
