Liberty high, the high school that I thought it's going to be my new term of life, probably the best. Now? standing in front of Hannah's locker, full of photos and letters, for my dead sister.
The girl that can't feel anything right now, absolutely nothing, the girl that left me and my family with a lot of disaster and of course, a box of tapes.
Lie or truth? You're about to find out, but as long as I knew that time, it was a lie for me, or at least I pretend it to be, because it felt better, because lie is always prettier than the truth, and I, for sure, hadn't got the heart to take it.
"Looking for something?"
I heard Justin talking with Clay, he was standing beside me looking at me, probably thinking what happened to the hot cheerleader, how awful she looks right now.Over size clothes, dirty pants, dark circles under her eyes without any make up on and a hat, that was belonged to Hannah some day.
"What would I be looking for?"
Clay said to Justin, who I'm sure wasn't that much better than me. He was on drug all night, that explains red eyes and pale skin, probably."You tell me."
Justin said harshly.
"Do you even know my name?"
"Course I do, Clay.""Kids, second ball."
Mr Porter said, that was when I realized, the empty hall, huh, never noticed.
I looked at Mr Porter for another minute with blank orbs in the hole on my face before picking up my backpack from the floor and made my way to the class, I didn't care what Justin told to Jensen after that, seriously, I didn't care for a while.Ms Bradley's class? Stupid. At least stupid enough for me to walk out of that damn class and smoke a cigarette in the back yard, yeah I'm smoking now, shocking.
Well I was there enough that I never realized class is over, and of course I never saw Clay Jensen was coming to me. That's why I jumped up when I heard his voice.
"You're smoking? It's not healthy."
I nodded, pushing toxic gas out of my mouth."Yeah thanks Clay, ask whatever you want to know and get the hell out of my face."
Harsh?too bad that I don't care."Ask you something? Why should I ask you something I just wanted to say that I'm sorry, about Hannah."
I got confused, he says he's sorry but I'm pretty sure Sherri posted the tapes to him this morning. If he had listened to them this reaction now is not healthy, just like my cigarette.
"Where's your boyfriend? I didn't see him this morning."
He changed the subject when I didn't answer, hilarious."We broke up."
I said smashing the filter on the ground with my boot."Uh...sorry to hear that, may I ask why?"
I got more confused, now he's been worried about my relationship, what's going on Jensen?"Yeah, you'll find out, I guess."
I turned my head just enough to see Cortney coming to us with a big fake smile on her lips. Oh hell no, I don't have enough energy for this one."Clay, thanks for your sympathy...or whatever, I gotta go now, bye."
I said and ran away from the back yard just before she could reach to us, I saw her talking to Clay though. Poor little girl, she's not going to stop faking around. On my way home I saw plenty of eyes on me, Justin, Jess, Bryce, Tony, Sherri, Zack, Alex. All of them had enough reasons to watch me, all of them. But the thing is, sometimes something will ruin your entire amazing life that you see you were living in a box of lies, Hannah was the one seeing them in the first place.
Me? I'll start to seeing it soon enough, and I will assure you, when the box starts to fall apart, you'll fall with it and nothing will left for you except for the big dark circles of disaster. And meanwhile Clay was about to listen to the tapes, my box was about to fall apart.
