It was close to a year after your journey. Today was the 1st anniversary of separation from your siblings. All you knew was that you were orphaned shortly after the birth of your youngest sibling, and forced to fend for you and your siblings in the unforgiving wilds of Wyrmchester. You had 3 siblings in total, all younger than you which gave you the responsibility to protect them when you were forced from your home by the invading monsters.
Despite being 16 years of age at the time, you had a twin brother, Nathan. You always remembered how you were born 2 minutes before him, giving you the age advantage by a fraction, you'd never let him forget it either. You had a younger sister, aged 14 last you saw her but she always acted like a crazy bokoblin whenever around the people she knew.
And then there was Caelan. At age 9, he was the youngest and most sensitive, but he never failed to find some sort of strength within him to overcome any obstacle. You smiled as you remembered the good times with your siblings, what life was like before you came across that strange old man in the woods. Before masked assassins killed your parents. He seemed to mutter something about...destiny? You couldn't remember. The old man murmured some sort of incantation and that was the last you ever saw of your dearest siblings.
Since then, you were teleported to the future state of Hyrule, a neighbouring kingdom to Wyrmwood and sent to assist the chosen hero, Link. Your journey together was quite hectic and Midna, the twilight princess you encountered in imp form on your journey, didn't help things at the beginning. But suddenly, she changed, she started to care more about Hyrule. Together, you three successfully defeated Zant, the usurper king of the twilight realm, restoring Midna's true form and saving Hyrule from a future ruled by shadow.
Almost a year had passed since then and you were sitting on a bench on lunch break in the quaint village of Ordon. Link was doing his job as a ranch hand, herding the goats with the help of Epona, his trusty steed. Though you only knew him for a year, he felt like an older brother to you. Anytime you were in a predicament or was worried about something, he would be there for you. Despite this, he would never replace your lost siblings.
It was difficult for you to adapt to a normal life of peace, Link found it easier to readjust, but that didn't come without a change.
The other villagers noticed this, in fact, you spoke to Sera, the owner of the general shop, Sera's Sundries in the village and she said she noticed Link was a lot more alert and aware of his surroundings. It was the topic of one of the discussions you and her had while working for her in the shop. You expected the change was due to your quest to save Hyrule. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, he sensed Sera's cat, stuck up a tree by his house on the outskirts of the village all the way from the ranch, and rushed on the back of Epona to save her.Once every few months, you and Link equipped your adventure gear and set out to the springs around Hyrule to ensure everything was as it should be. You remembered you were to do so again in the morrow. You decided to head for your own house on the other side of the lake to prepare your gear to leave at dawn. This meant an early night's sleep, which was difficult without the help of Sera's remedial bottles of goat milk to soothe you into sleep.

After prepping everything at home, you set out to find the kids of the village. Talo was pretending to fight a tree, attempting to mimic Link's swordplay, steadily improving all the time. You were happy for the young lad to have so much respect towards his idol, and his determination to be like him. Colin, however was helping his Father, Rusl with picking herbs for his baby sister as she was ill. He was a LOT more confident then before the twilight invasion. He was no longer considered a pushover by Talo and he was more outgoing and outspoken than ever. Beth was coming back from the ranch with bottles of goat milk for her mother, Sera, to sell in the shop. She smiled and greeted you as she passed, her hands full of milk bottles.
