"Bite me." I stared at him for what felt like an eternity. Did he just-
"I mean it." Again I thought my eyes would pop out of their sockets. He couldn't be serious; he wasn't supposed to just say yes. This was beyond ridiculous- I was taught that human blood mates were hard to convince to submit but Noah...
"You can't be serious." Was all I could muster, as I pushed away from him and he surprised me by rolling his eyes. Why was he so calm all of a sudden?
"You said you needed my blood to survive right? I mean I don't know you but I don't want to be the reason you died." A smirk suddenly graced his lips. "I also just kind of want to know what it feels like. Bitten by a Vampire sounds like a book title, eh?" He laughed; he thought this was funny?
"You think this is funny? Don't you even want to know what could happen to you if you agree to this?" His laughter died down and this time it was him sporting the fish eyes.
"Like side-effects?" I nodded and he urged me to talk. "Explain." Finally he was making sense again.
"The effects vary but what always happens is a mental connection between the mates." He raised an eye-brow.
"Like telepathy and shit? I could talk to you in my mind? Or like- BOOM and I'm in love with you or something?"
"Yes. Yes and no. Love isn't just a matter of mental connection. We would have to make an emotional connection for that to happen. And that can only happen if we both allow it to, as you very well know."
"So when you said 'you had to have me', it was just for my blood? No attraction whatsoever?" I must've been imagining it but I swear I heard a slight ounce of pain in his voice.
"Blood mates do usually end up being romantically or just sexually involved but we don't have to- I mean I don't even know if you're-"
"Gay? Fuck yes I am and you are one hot piece of undead meat." He winked- by Nox, I didn't know how to deal with him already and I'd only known him for like an hour.
"Um- okay." I cleared my throat and he seemed to enjoy my state of uneasiness because the smirk wouldn't leave his face.
"So are you?"
"What?"
"Gay? Are you gay? Do you like it up the butt?" He continued when I didn't answer. "Do you like sausage with your breakfast-?"
"I'm pansexual- all vampires are." I practically shouted so that he would stop his ramblings. He smirked satisfied but then a shadow crossed his handsome face.
"So if we don't get romantically involved- as you put it- you might stray and go- to a girl?" Pain was obvious in his voice and I winced.
"You know what? It doesn't matter- off topic. Side-effects, go." I didn't want to leave the question unanswered but something in his gaze told me to just leave it for now.
"Um-" I cleared my throat again. "You won't be able to get sick again and all your past ailments will be cured- a Vampire needs clean, healthy blood to survive so your blood and body will be cleansed with the first bite." He nodded as if in approval and motioned for me to carry on.
"You might get some of my powers." He let out an excited squeal and leaned forward listening attentively; I grinned. Finally he was behaving like a normal human mate. "I have ice powers and speed. So if you find yourself able to freeze things or able to run very fast for a short distance don't be alarmed."
"Thats so fucking cool." He grinned and I winced slightly at his cursing, which weirdly seemed to turn me on quite a bit. I'd have to get him to stop that if he didn't want me to- I shook my head to clear my head and continued:
