Chapter 5

-What are you doing here? I was shocked, pissed off but happy that this egocentric piece of.. stood in front of me

-I came to see you Em. Listen I'm really sorry...I cut him off

-You're sorry? Where the fuck were you when I needed you? You disappeared!

-Emily, give me five minutes, I can explain

-There is nothing to explain. Get out! I shouted, it was too much.

-Emily please, let me explain. You have no idea where i was, please just listen to me.

-Enlighten me then. i finally gave up, I didn't want to argue with him.

-I was in prison. I stood in front of him, absolutely shocked. I couldn't say a word to I just closed the door behind him and walked to the living room, he followed and sat next to me on the sofa. We were silent for a couple of minutes.

-Why were you in prison Jake? I finally asked him. He just sat there staring at me with a sad expression on his face.

-I had a massive fight that day, remember? The guy who I had a fight with, he was fine when i left him. His friend was there too, the next day he found him on the sofa. He wouldn't wake up. He wasn't dead, the guy called an ambulance. He was in a coma, because of his brain damage. They found me guilty. Section 20 Offences Against the Person Act or something. They gave me eight years in custody. I didn't want to tell you, I couldn't. I was afraid of your reaction. Two weeks after, they closed me in prison. I wanted to be fair to you but nothing came out of my mouth. I wrote hundreads of letters but never sent one. I came out couple of days ago. Your father told me you moved out. He didn't want to tell me where you live now but I told him everything. He was as shocked as you are right now but he understood. He even told me to take care of you once I find you. -I still didnt say a word

-LIsten Em, I came here to see you, I don't want to fight, I dont want to loose.... I cut him off by hugging him. I felt like he needed that, I needed that.

- You should have told me Jake. I wouldn't be so mad at you. I thought you left me cause I reminded you what your, our mom did years ago. Did you hear about what happened when you left? My face dropped but i tried to stay calm. I was gonna tell him, but not yet. I couldn't...
-What happened Em? You can tell me hunny.
- Not today, i'm tired and i have work tomorrow morning, you should go to sleep as well, you're probably tired.
-Okay, you're right. We'll talk tomorrow, Goodnight BAE
-Good night Jake - I gave him a kiss on the cheek, -Its good to have you back, -I smiled and hugged him and went upstairs.
